Yikes, if this doesn't make you a bit nervous about a film, I don't know what will. Sony Screen Gems announced today a January 22, 2010 release for Scott Stewart's Legion, which stars Paul Bettany, Dennis Quaid, Tyrese Gibson, Jon Tenney, Charles S. Dutton, Lucas Black, Kate Walsh, Adrianne Palicki, Kevin Durand and Willa Holland. Filming is completed and yet we won't see this sucker until 2010, what gives? The story follows a group of strangers stranded in a desert truckstop who must band together to stop an army of demonic creatures out to fulfill an ancient prophecy that opens the gates of hell.
This film has been on the IMDB since Spring. Doug Jones is going to be in the film as well and the plot also involves a pregnant woman and the archangels Michael and Gabriel are apart of the plot as well. The full story of the film sounds like a cross between The 7th Sign and Night of the Living Dead/Evil Dead, etc.
I worked on "Legion" and I'm gonna assume the 2010 release is b/c of all the visual effects that this movie will have. You've got to remember completing the filming is only the first step. Just b/c it's shot, doesn't mean it's ready to roll out into theaters...
After working on the set, I can see why it's taking so long. A lot of behind the scenes and extended filming along with special effects. Can't wait!
