Lucky resident of the Hollywood area are in for a real Halloween treat as Michael Dougherty's long-delayed Trick 'r Treat is scheduled to make it's Los Angeles premiere on October 10th as part of the Screamfest Horror Film Festival. The film will play at the Grauman’s Theatre in Hollywood and feature a Q+A with Dougherty following the screening. Click the title above for more info on the film or read on for a brand new synopsis. Other films that will be playing the October event are SPLINTER, DANCE OF THE DEAD, MARTYRS, THE BURROWERS and PARASOMNIA, with many more to be announced soon.
TRICK ‘r TREAT: It is said that Halloween is the night when the dead rise to walk among us and other unspeakable things roam free. The rituals of All Hallows Eve were devised to protect us from their evil, and one small town is about to be taught a terrifying lesson that some traditions are best not forgotten. Nothing is what it seems when a young couple learns the dangers of blowing out a Jack-o-Lantern before midnight; four beautiful women cross paths with a costumed stalker; a group of pranksters discovers the horrifying truth buried in a local legend; and a cantankerous hermit is visited by a strange trick-or-treater with a few bones to pick. Costumes and candy, ghouls and goblins, monsters and mayhem... the tricks and treats of Halloween turn deadly as strange creatures of every variety-- human and otherwise --try to survive the scariest night of the year. The film stars Anna Paquin, Dylan Baker, Leslie Bibb, Tahmoh Penikett, and Brian Cox.
Look! I think its pretty safe to say that we all want to see this movie already. Its been almost three years of big hype and great reviews from film festivals. I don't know why House of the Dead has gotten two different dvd releases and this one can't even get one. Release this fucking movie already! Lionsgate - you should have been all over this one. More shame on you.
PS. Now I'm really fired up. Screamfest gets at least three awesome movies - Martyrs, Trick r' Treat and Dance of the Dead. Why does Horrorfest always suck so bad?
Unfortunately, Trick 'R Treat will no longer be getting the theatrical run it deserved (go to hell, Warner Brothers!). However, there is a small chance that it will be released on DVD before Halloween. After years of delays and disappointments, I just want to see this damn movie in any way possible. In the meantime, you can purchase Trick 'R Treat Halloween masks and even the official book about the making of the film.
Thank fucking god this movie is finally getting released. I don't think it'll be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I've been dying to see it ever since seeing a trailer ages ago.
This Movie will be sooo freakin scary i think i will love this movie and yes horrorfan it is about time for this movie to come out lol
