This afternoon professional photographers Shayne and Walter Emmert of E. Photography sent us in a dozen behind-the-scenes stills from Anchor Bay Entertainment and Starz Entertainment's remake of Children of the Corn, which will air on the Sci-Fi Channel sometime in 2008. Directed by Donald P. Borchers and starring David Anders, Kandyse McClure and Daniel Newman, the film is now shooting in Iowa. In the film former Vietnam vet BURT's marriage to VICKY is on the rocks, but Burt hopes to rekindle their old flame with a second honeymoon driving trip. Unfortunately, their journey takes them into the heart of darkness -- a seemingly deserted rural community that conceals a grim secret among its rows of tall corn...
I just watched the original last night!
Malichai is still a creepy MF'er
I know a lot of horror fiends hate it but this remake looks like shit! just another sci-fi original I wont be watching! this sucks!
Looks bad on many levels. Though...I digress...I would rather watch a horrible remake of Children of the Corn (Which, by the way, scared the living shit outta me as a young buck)than sit through a well thought out spin-off of Beverly Hills 90210. Anyone named Dylan is never to be trusted. Even more so than Malichai.
This movie scared the shit out of me as a kid. I for 1 can't wait to see it, not only because I LOVE cheesy horror movies, but because it is being filmed in my home town. As a fan of horror movies, and of Heroes, it was amazing to see the set of this movie.
Yea, Malichai was creepy, the original scared the crap out of me, and blah, blah, blah. I hope this one does what the last one failed to do and that is keep to the original Stephen King story.
For the Jaws fans out there: Legendary shark hunter, Frank Mundus, the man widely credited as the inspiration for (my fav) Captain Quint in the film Jaws, passed away on the island of Hawaii. He was 82 yrs. old. He fished the waters off Montauk since the 5o's, on his boat "Cricket". When he landed a monster white shark over 4500 lbs., it sparked Mr.Benchley's imagination, & a great novel was born. The novel led to the creation of one of the greatest thrillers in cinematic history. Not to mention the birth of a hell of a character, Captain Quint. RIP Mr. Mundus, you will be missed.
when i first heard about this movie, i was really skeptical. now that i see these shots and hear recent casting news, I have to say that this movie will most likely be crap. the kids they got as Issac is waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy to young. now, i know Issac is supposed to be eight in the story but the kid they got playing him looks like he is about 5. THERE IS ONLY ONE JOHN FRANKLIN!!!! i will still watch it but im not getting my hopes up.
This is the first of two remakes to Children of the Corn.I'll maybe like this one more because Anchor bay are behind it and I have alot of respect for them. They know what horror fans want. I just love the cars being used in this movie they really bring Gatlin to life.
