Here's an odd piece of news, courtesy of MTV. The website reports that star Joseph Gordon Levitt is denying that he's slated to star in Warner Bros. Pictures' remake of Akira, which was announced here this past February. When asked about the rumor, Levitt responded, “That just goes to show what you can believe about what people write about movies. I love the movie AKIRA. I still have yet to read the manga, but that’s really just a rumor. They don’t have a script or anything.” But this isn't to say it's not going to happen, it just says that as of right now he's not attached. We'll keep you posted.
He would be amazing as Tetsuo. I would have never thought of him to be involved, but I'd love to see it. It's a perfect casting choice, hope it turns out.
I doubt this movie will ever get made and if it does there's no way they'd be bright enough to cast someone as awesome as him but, if they did, I'd be all over that shit.
