Brittany Snow (pictured inside), who you might remember from Sony Screen Gems' PROM NIGHT, has been signed to topline in Senator Entertainment's vidgame adaptation Clock Tower, with Martin Weisz (The Hills Have Eyes 2) directing the production, which begins in November in Los Angeles. The story centers on a troubled psychiatric patient who witnessed her parents die and is constantly plagued by religious imagery. Martin Weisz, who is the third director attached to this long-delayed project, last directed THE HILLS HAVE EYES II for Fox Atomic.
NOOOOOOOOO!!!!
SHE IS THE WORST, UGLIEST, MOST ANNOYING WANNABE ACTRESS EVER!!! Nobody even played or knows that old Clock Tower video game.
The studio is really screwing up here. Kids did not go see piece of crap Prom Night because of her they went to see it because it was called Prom Night and they marketed it well and counter-programmed it. Audiences are not going to see something called Clock Tower based on an video game nobody knows about.
They better not make thi movie, but if they do they better not make it PG-13. Rated R is the only way to get people into the theatre and give this any credibility.
DAMNNIT! And I was really truly hoping they would do Clock Tower at least some justice. I mean, Clock Tower had some pretty interesting merits that they really could have had fun with; but as of now, it almost looks like they will want to tone it down to pg-13; shes still just a pre-teen themed actress "carbon copy". Lets hope not.

Religious Imagery has nothing to do with giant fucking scissors.....count me out. And the director of Hill Have Eyes 2?????? Just scrap this project altogether and remake Ghoulies.
Uh interesting. I kind of like Brittany Snow and she put my faith in this movie. I was scared this would be a cheap DTV crapfest, maybe it´s gonna be a high budget crapfest XD but we´ll see. The poster was kind of cool. And this one could be good. Looking forward to more news.
NOOOOOOOOO! FUCK FUCK FUCK! WHAT THE FUCK?! TERRIBLE ACTRESS. The only thing she's been good in was the hooker in Finding Amanda, other than that... Oh well, the director made that piece of shit trash i.e. the hills have eyes 2, so it'll probably suck even without Ms. Snow.
I play a lot of video games and I have never even heard of clock tower. This chick should be in High School Musical not horror movies. I don't think she is ugly, but she is definately not hot enough to sell a movie. She is no Jessica Alba! Brittany Snow sounds like a girl that should be playing Cinderella not starring in bad horror movies. I do have to admit, though I'm not fimiliar with the story, it does sound like it has potential. For some reason movies that have religious undertones kinda freak me out. I will check this out on DVD.
Prom Night and The Hills Have Eyes 2 were 2 of the WORST, god awful pieces of shit to ever "grace" the big screen. it sounds like this movie is a good match for a new entry in the "worst pieces of shit" movies.
i'll pass.
The original Clock Tower game was pretty scary (albeit insanely difficult.) It sucks that they're probably going to turn this into a lame PG-13 borefest.
I think, the biggest injustice to the Clock Tower series is that they changed the fuckin story. I agree, what the hell does religious imagery have to do with CT? Seriously, look at the game! I wouldn't be THAT HARD to replicate into a movie. It's a simple concept that set the games up for total suspense. Scissor Man popping up out of nowhere and chasing you down the hall until you find a place to hid. To actually follow the game, it would make it a very good slasher movie, at the least. Maybe right up there with the suspense you'd see in the original Halloween. But, I can now see why the studios chose Brittany. They see Clock Tower and immediately say, "Video game......kids........ we need this movie to be marketable to kids.....PG-13!". Bad call.
My first reaction- WTF!! NOOO!! NOO!! THIS CANT BE FUCKING HAPPENING!! NO!.
Second reaction- WTF AGAIN!! MARTEN WEISZ???? THAT DIRECTOR RUINED HILLS 2!!! FUCK. I am very mad. and even more mader if it turns into those " PG 13" movies. They better do a good job. or i will FUCKING RIP OUT THEIR EYES.

Watching Hills 2 made me realize that if people like that can somehow make movies, my chances are looking pretty good. I appreciated the confidence booster.
I wouldn't say Miss Snow is ugly. She's alright looking, but the thing is, she looks WAY older than she actually is. She could pass for someone in their 30s. That's not a good thing if you're casting her as a teenager. Adn in general, that was basically one of the most misguided things about the Prom Night remake: 90210-itis. Having teenagers being played by 20-something-year olds who, at the very least, DON'T look young at all. You have to be careful when casting 20-something-year olds as teens. First, they have to look the part. Example, Ralph Macchio during the Karate Kid films. He was in his 20s(probably late 20s) and he COULD pass for a teenager. Brittany Snow, on the other hand, is definately younger than Macchio back then, but doesn't have that "teenage" look down. She looks more like a sorority party girl.
YESSS!!! Ever since they arent doing Clock Tower 1 with Jennifer and Scizzor man, a cute young actress is the only thing that can save this film now. This is GREAT news!!!!
magnaderalpha, i hear what you're saying, but the BIG problem w/ Prom Night (IMO) wasn't the fact they didn't look like teens but the fact that the ENTIRE movie sucked ass. wasn't scary, at all bloody, suspenseful, it was acted badly, it was directed badly, it was a comedy. THOSE are the issues that made PN god awful.
djblack1313, I don't disagree with you. Note I said it was ONE of the most misguided things about Prom Night. There were certainly a LOT of misguided things about that movie. Be it the horrible script, horrible acting, horrible directing, plot holes and such. The fact that it was a teen movie where the actors looked NOTHING like teens, just threw the little bitter cherry on top. But, other than that, yeah, major bummer that they are totally screwing over the game series. It would be so damn sickening if they release a disclaimer saying "Based on the video game series". Hell, for as thrashed as they were, even the old school Street Fighter and Super Mario movie used concepts from the games. The only difference is, those games, from the start, were hard to duplicate to a live-action movie(even the NEW Street Fighter movie about Chun Li seems like it's not going to fall short). Clock Tower CAN be translated if you just do a straight up horror movie!
magnaderalpha, i'm with you on this %100 (including the 50 years old looking people playing teens! LOL). also, is Clock Tower like a Silent Hill type game w/ the imagery/ plot? or...?
djblack1313, the first CT wasn't as psychologically disturbing as the Silent Hill games. Well, it wasn't as "acid trippy". Silent Hill is all about the disturbing twisted twitching monsters. Clock Tower's atmosphere is more, say, something between the original Halloween and TCM. You have instances where you think you're alone, exporing, then when you walk into a room, out of nowhere Scissor Man appears and chases you out of the room, down the hall. The only way you can loose him is if you either fight back(hoping to stun him, then run) or hide. The susepnse and tension's there, just like any classic horror movie. But, also the TCM's "crazy family" theme. Bobby(Scissor Man) is the deformed son of the Burroughs family, and his mother and father are pretty deranged. But Bobby has a twin brother, Dan, who lives in the caves beneath the mansion. His one big deformed monstrosity!
I hope this is rated R. That is the deal clencher. And maybe Brittany can make ammends to horror fans for the lame Prom Night.
I thought Hills 2 just suffered from a very weak story. Blame Wes Craven and son for that. Visually I had no problem so I give him a chance. Plus Martin's 1st horror movie ( still not released in the U.S.) is suppose to be really really good.
ryanbramhart, i was thinking the same thing. if this is rated R (which i highly doubt it will be. Brittany can bring in the tweens and teenagers. NOT people above the age of 16) it could be good and Brittany could make ammends to horror movie fans.
MAGNADERALPHA, thanx for the game info!
Ok, Prom Night was a complete failure. I never saw it or wanted to give it a chance, however, I did wind up seeing it last week. Hated it. The story, weak. The cast, deplorable. Directing, film students do better. The original storyline could have benn done so well. PN is about one simple thing, revenge. Should have started there. I have to admit I like Brittany Snow, she's no scream queen but I like her.
Well, you can see by all our comments that we aren't exactly excited about this news. Did you guys ever play Clock Tower 3? There's a part in there where a hulking madman kills a young girl with a sledgehammer. I wonder if that will be in the movie.........
DBlock, the original's premise could have EASILY been translated into a modern adaptation. I mean, it's not like children have stopped being dumbasses. It's not like they don't pick on other kids and accidents result from this. It's like they writer of the remake basically said, "That part where they have the mental patient escape... We should use THAT as the basis for the remake....even though that was a MINOR part of the original just to fool the audience into thinking HE was the killer. Totally!!!".
