Summit Entertainment's remake of Mark Rosman's 1983 THE HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW, currently titled Sorority Row, is currently prepping to shoot in Pittsburgh this October. The film is being produced by Summit (Step Up I and II, Never Back Down, Twilight) and directed by Stewart Hendler (Whisper). Actresses Briana Evigan (Step Up 2: The Streets) and Rumer Willis (The House Bunny) have been cast in principal roles, according to Nancy Mosser Casting. In Mark Rosman's original, after a seemingly innocent prank goes horribly wrong, a group of sorority sisters are stalked and murdered one by one in their sorority house while throwing a party to celebrate their graduation.
Sounds like Black Christmas without the Christmas (and hopefully the killer's lame backstory). Weird that Rumer Willis is doing yet another sorority role, but she was awesome in "The House Bunny". And Briana Evigan is one of the hottest girls I've ever seen (i.e. the rain scene in "Step Up 2").
Interesting choices but I like them, Rumer Willis doesn't photograph well but the girl is borderline beautiful when she's live action, and I'm sure they'll do the same thing the did to her in house bunny making her wear a blond wig because that emo dark dyke haircut she has now won't work especially for a sorority girl, that aside i liked the original so I hope this one is just as good.
Not too many Rumer Willis fans here. Never saw her act, but it does run in her blood I hope. I liked the original and if done correctly it might work. I don't have high expectations but I'll check it out.
YES, this movie is going to be Rated-R, as thedescent08 said. They basically said it WAS going to be a PG-13 movie, but it's now an rated-R project, which they exclaim, is great. But they said, if you're looking for an HARD R(exploitation) or torture porn, look somewhere else. This isn't going to be a sex romp with flying boobies and excess of gore. Though, I always felt that you never needed to go to the extreme, even with an R-rating. That seems to be the problemt nowadays, were every rated-R movie seems to use that rating just to throw in more pointless crap, and not really for the benefit fo the movie, but just cause they can get away with it. This remake seems to be in the vein of older R-rated horror movies where directors didn't try to push the envelope, but only used "enough" that they felt would benefit the movie.
Her small role in 'from within' was okay. She's got some presence, but let's hope 'the surname' isn't the reason she is getting the parts?
