Lionsgate is dumping another one of their horror film as we've been informed that J.T. Petty's The Burrowers (trailer) will be arriving on DVD April of 2009 from Liongsate Home Entertainment. The film will have its World Premiere tonight at the "Midnight Madness" portion of the Toronto International Film Festival. If you head on inside, you can check out the first official clip from the film. After a family is brutally murdered in their home, a group of ranchers and infantry men embark on a crusade to find the killers. When a mysterious killer attacks their ranks, they discover that carnivorous creatures are hiding beneath the surface of the earth waiting to feed on their flesh.
this movie looks GREAT! but apparently it's getting shafted by Lionsgate. i really think people need to BOYCOTT SAW 5 ( or whatever part they're up to) and say "fuck you" to LG. i can't believe this is ANOTHER horror film they are screwing over!
That looks creepy. Yes, we should all boycott Saw whatever, not only to show Lionsgate we're sick of the way they're treating horror, but because that series sucks after the first one.
Saw the premiere of this film last night at TIFF. It's *very* good. Great fun with just the right balance of tension over humour.
A real shame that more people won't be seeing it on the big screen.
Total Bummer! JT is so talented...I'm sure there is more ahead for him, but I'm really bummed about The Burrowers and not just because I have a small part in it...I haven't seen the whole thing yet, but I know it is going to be a very, very good movie. Lions Gate really missed the boat on this one.
