A few weeks ago we told you about a new FRIDAY THE 13TH documentary entitled HIS NAME WAS JASON, which we were interviewed for as part of the retrospect. Today we were sent a link to the official MySpace page, which featured not only a cool teaser poster for the flick, but also a look at Kane Hodder being interviewed. Read on to take a look. JASON is slated to premiere on Starz! in February of 2009 (a week before the release of Platinum Dunes' remake) before hitting DVD soon thereafter from Anchor Bay Entertainment. The doc is being directed by Dan Ferrands, the editor and co-publisher of the incredible FRIDAY interview book, "Crystal Lake Memories" and two AMITYVILLE HORROR documentaries.
Absolute garbage. There have not been enough interviews about the series over the years? What is there to say that is even remotely new or interesting? It is just another moneymaker for the rights holders to the films and Anchor Bay. It also gives the newest crop of windbags a chance to regurgitate old information.
Really lookin forward to this! And foofighter24 can suck a fat one. It's so obvious your not only a Friday but also a BD hater. So why dontchu get tha fuck outta here!
Anyone who loves horror will want to see this - so of course I want to see it. But I must admit, I always thought that Jason's mother in the first one was creepier than Jason. There's just nothing scarier than a big woman. And to foofighter24; save that kind of anger for something that more richly deserves it - like the Prom Night remake.
So, foofighter you may have a remote point, however, let the fans have their moment. Yes, there have been countless interviews on the franchise, but the fans still want it. What do you care whom makes money on it? Are you pissed because you did not make it happen and can't reap the rewards? You seem to be in the wrong place. Try Horrorhaters.com and take a Xanax. Just a thought.
I am stoked to see Jason in a real F13 film again, and I am a huge fan of horror. I just think it is exploiting genre fans to keep pumping out garbage that capitalizes on our love of the films. Over the last 28 years, every question has been asked and answered, though. They could not even fill out a box set without resorting to fluff a couple years ago.
To claim someone is not a horror movie fan, or is a hater because they have standards, is ridiculous. Fans will buy the DVD for the promise of something new, but all they are getting is rehash. I am not pissed, I am concerned.
I see your point. Maybe, just maybe we might get something new out of this. I'm excited nonetheless and if I get a rehash and disappointed over it you will have my most sincerest apologies. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
