Writer-Director Edward Romero is back with a new indie horror project that begins shooting in Los Angeles later this year. BUTTERFLY is a suspense/horror hybrid about NICK COLE, a straight-to-video horror director who is kidnapped by, LANEY, an over zealous fan, determined to impress him with her own film project. The situation goes from bad to worse when Cole realizes that the murders in Laney's film are real, and that the victims are all people from his own dark past. Think Hard Candy meets The Blair Witch Project with a sardonic edge... Watch for updates soon.
hated blair witch project? how?? that set the tone for every handycam movie to ever come out. That gave birth to that way of filming. Please don't hate on the blair witch project.
OK, that's fucking twice in one day that I've heard a great movie concept with a shitty name (ie. Mum & Dad). Who decides the names for these films anyways? They need to give up being vegan for a while or get laid or something.
I have no problem with the handycam style and I enjoy plenty of movies that use that style, but The Blair Witch Project was pure shit. Not one truly scary or suspenseful moment. Sure, it may have paved the way for the use of that camera style, but as a film it just sucks.
As an actor who has read this script, I believe that the title is a Nobokov reference.
