A film we've ben covering pretty heavy since June is the Thai horror pic THE COFFIN, which we first told you about here. Today we learned that Thai helmer Ekachai Uekrongtham's film nailed the top spot at Thailand's box office last weekend - outpacing Jason Statham's DEATH RACE, which opened across the country on the same day. Check out some new stills inside and an updated trailer inside.
Inspired by a true Thai ritual of lying in coffins to cheat death and get rid of bad luck, The Coffin is a spine-chilling supernatural thriller about a man and a woman who are confronted by a series of paranormal and terrifying incidents after going through the bizarre ritual. Thrilling, mysterious and ultimately moving, this new film from the award-winning director of Beautiful Boxer is also about the beauty of life and death, living and dying.
that looks awesome--but if it's anything like THE VICTIM, it's going to suck bad. to everyone who hasn't seen THE VICTIM, the best quote Tartan could find for the movie was "a tale of possession" that's not even a fucking compliment, it's a statement.
this will prob. get remade for the u.s. ina year or two. figures all the foreign countries come up with great or what seems to be good from what i read horror. only horror u.s. knows is to remake all the old school horror.
This looks interesting ...not really scary...but recognize the guy from the "Shutter"...
