The most talked about foreign film of 2008 is Pascal Lauger's Martyrs, which is about to play at this years Frightfest UK and Toronto International Film Festival giving horror fans their first taste of this delicious French film. Today our good friends over at Twitch Film posted two news reviews for the film, which is probably one of the most intense horror films in the past few years. I was lucky enough to watch MARTYRS on Sunday night. It's not perfect, but it kept me on the edge of my seat for the how bloody movie. Every one involved seems to have given 110% to make this an amazing movie. I havn't seen INSIDE yet, but NDFan should watch the film before dismissing it as part of the current wave of French horrors
This film was such a let down. The 1st half of it was unbelievably brutal and great. The second half is just a sad, pathetic excuse for brutality for brutality's sake.
INSIDE is much much more emotional and a better film.
I was going to go see this, vinyan, and sexykiller at the tiff in several weeks but my friend who was going dropped out on going at the last fucking minute so i had to cancel the trip.
