I really, really wanted nothing more than to like Paul W.S. Anderson's Death Race remake, and although I think many of you will enjoy what he has to offer, I hated it. "Even though DEATH RACE is pretty bloody, and had some cool moments, the overall experience is mind numbing and a little depressing. It’s sad to think that this is Anderson’s best effort since 2002, and that it’s still as bad as ever." I loved it! Death race was sucha good action movie! a couple good kills, lots of great car chases and explosions. Look, its not mind numbing and not depressing, trust me, its a fun experience thats definitely worth the bucks and a great entertainment. I Dont know what the hell someone that thinks Death Race is stupid was expecting but the film definitely delivered on the good stuff that an action film should have.

the last good thing he did(and only) was in 1997 with a little film called Event Horizon. Resident Evil SUCKS AVP is STUPID and Mortal Kombat was LAME. Why anyone would think Death Race would be good is beyond me. It's just for dick head jock car jerks that have The Fast and the Furious(remake) posters and tribal tattoos. Death Race is not a horror movie but is the meat head film of the summer.
I saw AVP before I saw the original Alien, and at the time I enjoyed AVP a lot. That said, I'm sure this movie will suck as much as Mirrors. I can't see it sucking more than Mirrors, though. I'll see it next week.
abe_the_cop you hit the nail right on the head. Event Horizon is the only good movie Anderson has EVER MADE. Everything else has turned to shit in his hands. I do like Statham but, I will never see this movie. I can think of other things to do for an hour and a half...like sleep, or comb my hair.
This looks like crap. The trailer told me that this is not even close to the original. DEATH RACE 2000 had a B-movie/grindhouse feel that totally worked. This crap just looks like some futuristic "Fast and Furious", "Gone in 60 Seconds" disposable action car chase junk. Tarantino would have done this justice.
Who would have thought in this day and age that running over innocent people for points would be too exploitive to see on the big screen. The original rocked, and Jason Statham is getting old. He plays the same character in every movie he does. Overrated.
what do expect paul(worked under paul anderson, i guess the w.s is supossed to cover that fact.) was a pornstar and later director of porn, boogie nights is his qausi bio flick. he tries his best and delivers pop corn movies fairly well, are they great? hell no! they aren't supossed too be, lighten up...
they should've just added a killer clown,a better movie and call it TWISTED METAL...but too bad they wont do that cause most hollywood movies r either crappy remakes or horrible adaptations.only the original movies do good.
I'll bet anderson will give us some lame excuse that this isn't his cut, like he did last time.
