If you click on over to BDTV you can watch a "making-of featurette" for Frank Sabatella's Blood Night: The Legend of Mary Hatchet, which stars Samantha Facchi, Ricardo Cordero, Nate Dushku, Anthony Marks, Nancy Malleo, Danielle Harris and even Bill Moseley. The film follows a group of teenagers celebrating the anniversary of the death of a local axe murderer suddenly find themselves face to face with the realities of this haunting urban legend. Watch this spot for an interview with the director soon, click the title for the poster and stills.
As expensive as HD cams are to rent and operate, why didn't they go with film? Digital suffers from bad DOF (which lenses CAN correct, but they never use them) and 16mm is cheap and can look really professional. Take a look at Shallow Grounds. That looked like a 35mm studio film and was made on $700,000. This still looks like a decent rental.
legends, camp fire tales, would be killers impersonating said legends are always good entertainment.
These are the sort of pics I like.
