Bloody-Disgusting learned exclusively today that David Anders ("Heroes", Left in Darkness) and Kandyse McClure ("Battlestar Galactica", "Reaper") are the first to be cast in Anchor Bay and Starz Entertainment's made-for-TV remake of Children of the Corn, which will have it's premiere on the Sci-Fi Channel next year. Original producer Donald P. Borchers will be directing from his own screenplay. Former Vietnam vet BURT's marriage to VICKY is on the rocks, but Burt hopes to rekindle their old flame with a second honeymoon driving trip. Unfortunately, their journey takes them into the heart of darkness -- a seemingly deserted rural community that conceals a grim secret among its rows of tall corn... Shooting begins September 3rd in Davenport, Iowa.
loved the original..who did David Anders play on heroes? ive only seen/have the first season and been awhile since i have watched that and the second season.(waiting till dvd).
It looks like it's gonna follow the original short story. That's pretty cool. She's pretty cute, but if she's Vicky, she's not who I would've imagined for the role.
I knew it!!!! Now all they need to do is cast Luke Perry, and the crap fest can begin. Get ready for not even good B movie acting just bad B movie acting. SCI-FI cant make good original movies at all period! Shows however they do have some good ones. I know that this is gonna suck ass big time. I am stoked for Marvel comics to come out with the 30 issue series of the stand I think that will be sic.
If it was based on the story, it'd be 30 minutes. What they're going to do is add a bunch of back story shit that's completely unnecessary to fill time, add new characters, change old characters, show no blood and fill the rest with barely watchable CGI. Just like every other made for TV Stephen King story. And the Sci-Fi channel sucks for movies. I cite their Pumkinhead films.
this is probably the only way any new Children of the Corn material will make it to our screens so good news to a degree.
PS how many Pumpkinhead sequels did Sci-Fi make? they've not shown them in the UK yet
who owns the rights to the first children of the corn?
