I don't care how many times they've said it. This is good news. And I bet you guys at BD would be more pleased if it were a remake. I'd rather hear Bruce, Raimi and Tapert repoeat this every week than all the remakes you guys report on

I was at the SDCC "Drag Me to Hell Panel" and Sam Raimi said he was going to see Ivan and to work on a script for "Evil Dead IV". I was stoked, but there was an odd, lukewarm reception to the remark in the room, similar to the fatigue you've described in this article.

Well, I'd only welcome it if it was more in the vein of the original Evil Dead, or at the least, Evil Dead 2. It got too comedic with Army of Darkness. I can stomach a pure serious horrorfest(like the first movie) or a campy horrorfest(like the second movie), but not another fantasy/sci-fi adventure comedy with some horror aspects to it.

All that aside, do we really need Evil Dead 4? Or a remake for that matter? At least they're not rushing into it and doing a half ass job. It sounds like if they're gonna do it, they'll want to do it right. I'm perfectly happy with the trilogy.

Bruce has said time and time again that he is up for it. Soooooooo! whats the hold up, could Bruce and Ted maybe make this movie without Sammy? Clearly Sammy Raimi doesnt care much for the films anymore or has outgrown them (or simply turned into an old git) So come on guys get this film out before your fans start claiming their pensions. Plus Freddy Vs JAson Vs Ash was a cool story maybe this should be done too.

Its pretty stupid that it probably wont happen considering the amount of fans the other movies have made, i'd fucking love an evil dead 4 and maybe a remake although i cant imagine anyone but campbell playing ash

I haven't given up hope for a third film, but at this point, most people won't be happy with it for a lot of different reasons. Some people will say that it isn't gritty enough. Some will say that it's not funny. Some will say that it's too funny. Others will complain about Campbell's age. You can't please anyone with these franchises that have been dormant for a long time. Fans say they want a new film, but when the film comes out, all they do is bitch about how it's not what they wanted. It's a no win situation.

I hope it happens, and I hope it's low budget with no CG. Raimi needs to give the fans what they want, drag me to hell looks horrible. I hope Raimi will wake up and realize just how badly the fans want this movie and actually make it.

Sam Raimi is a dick. If he had no interest in making Evil Dead 4, he should of just gave up the rights so New Line could of made that Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, which was ACTUALLY GOOD. I read the comic version, it was awesome. The problem is that the Raimi we loved is dead. This is the Sam Raimi who is more of a business man than anything else, and would rather do a stupid remake that nobody wants just so it could make a few extra dollars opening weekend for his lame Ghosthouse Productions.

He's already kinda working on Spiderman 4 isn't he? Evil Dead 4 would be great, but i aon't gonna hold my breath. Maybe, WHEN the Friday the 13th remake does amazing things at the box office, our old horror faves will gain momentum. Freddy vs Jason 2, etc. Fingers crossed.

If Bruce wants to do it and the fans are begging for it, then Raimi needs to get off his ass already and do it. He's been holding off for too long and not giving the fans what they want. I figured after the Spiderman trilogy that he'd finally have room open to work on it. Still no progress, only that someday it may happen...

I dont really feel that Sam will ever do another one...He is way too full of himself now. I know Bruce would and has always been respectful to the fans who want to see it happen. I dont think Bruce is too old yet...but he will be soon. I dont want a remake of Evil Dead...because its perfect the way it was...in all its campy glory!
