I agree, even though I can't stomach a NOES remake. I mean, it's not as jaw-dropping when they announce remakes to horror movies from the 70s and 80s. But, it DOES get attention when it's a remake of a movie from the 90s. Whereas a lot of younger fans might not remember(were babies) or weren't even born during the 70s and 80s, the 90s seems to be the general decade mostly everybody "modern" falls back on cause unless you were born in the late 90s, most teenagers and early 20-year olds DO remember the 90s fondly. Hence, there's more people out there ready to say, "Wait a minute, that movie isn't THAT old! Why are they remaking it?!". Also, look at the original Candyman. It was, IMO, one of the last great horror classic movies before horror became trendy in the mid-90s with MTV-Teen horror(Kevin Williamson-typed horror) which would branch off into modern PG-13 horror and overgore torture porn. I shudder to think WHO exactly they will get to play Candyman. Tony Todd captured the original chillingly well. He was an AWESOME horror villain, right up there with Jason, Freddy and Pinhead. They'll probably get Busta Rhymes for the remake.
