Pittsburgh-based indie horror production company Happy Cloud Pictures has just announced that their latest production SPLATTER MOVIE: THE DIRECTOR’S CUT featuring horror icon Debbie Rochon (TROMEO AND JULIETTE) and EVIL DEAD effects wizard, animator and artist Tom Sullivan will be available for sale for a very limited time. SPLATTER MOVIE, a darkly satirical mockumentary that is one part BLAIR WITCH, one part SCREAM and all blood and guts is a guaranteed thrill and more than a couple of uncomfortable laughs (especially for anyone who has ever worked on an indie horror film or is familiar with the horror convention scene).
Splatter Movie: The Director’s Cut available on DVD for a limited time!

Happy Cloud Pictures is pleased to announce that for a limited time, their most controversial and unusual production to date, Splatter Movie: The Director’s Cut, will be available for purchase as a pre-release DVD from the company’s official website.

Telling the story of a group of filmmakers who arrive at a haunted attraction to shoot a low-budget horror movie about a group of filmmakers who arrive at a haunted attraction to shoot a horror movie (ad infinitum), the movie presents itself as a documentary, capturing the last days of this cast and crew as they are picked off one by one by a demented killer masquerading as the film’s central slasher. Told through the point of view of the fictional film’s director (played by Splatter Movie’s own director, Amy Lynn Best), the movie begins to spiral into a nightmare where the divide between film and reality blurs before vanishing entirely!

Splatter Movie: The Director’s Cut boasts a large cast of both Happy Cloud regulars and newcomers including Best, Tom Sullivan (The Evil Dead), Debbie Rochon (Tromeo and Juliet), Elske McCain (Poultrygeist), Rachelle Williams (Jess Franco’s Take-Away Spirit), Sofiya Smirnova (A Feast of Flesh), Jeff Waltrowski (Project: Valkyrie), Aaron Bernard (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End), Nikki McCrae (Carmilla’s Kiss), Tiffany Warren and Stacy Bartlebaugh-Gmys.

Covered in the pages of Fangoria Magazine, Splatter Movie made its premiere at the 2008 Fangoria Weekend of Horrors in Chicago and copies of the movie sold out by the end of the weekend. Since then, it has been one of the most-discussed Happy Cloud Pictures’ productions ever, as fans clamored to see this odd, off-beat, bizarre and occasionally-controversial movie.

Originally, the producers had made the decision to make the movie available only at conventions, but overwhelming demand has coaxed the company to sell limited-edition DVDs through the official site at www.happycloudpictures.net. Until December 31, 2008 (or while supplies last), you can order Splatter Movie: The Director’s Cut, autographed by the director and star, Amy Lynn Best, for just $15 – shipping and handling is free!

Don’t wait – once they’re gone, they’re gone!

ollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story

The SCREAMBOX Original documentary Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story is now streaming on SCREAMBOX, and it’s next coming to VHS!

A limited edition of only 50 copies worldwide, the VHS copies of the Englund documentary will go up for grabs on Saturday, April 27 at 12pm EST on Lunchmeat’s official website.

Josh Schafer of Lunchmeat explains, “With so many of Englund’s works being seen and familiarized on videotape, it only felt right to offer fans and collectors the opportunity to experience this fantastic doc on VHS. We all know the Freddy movies just feel different on videocassette, and we wanted to bring that feel to this film for those who want it.”

“Since first donning a tattered fedora and a glove of eviscerating blades in 1984, Robert Englund has become a beloved horror icon. His portrayal of Freddy Krueger is without doubt a moment as visceral to the horror genre as Chaney’s werewolf or Karloff’s groundbreaking realization of Frankenstein’s monster. However, few realize the depths of Englund’s true power as a character actor away from the latex mask and iconic red and green sweater.

“A classically trained actor and director, Robert Englund has become one of the most revolutionary horror icons of our generation.. This unique and intimate portrait captures the man behind the glove and features interviews with Englund and his wife Nancy, Lin Shaye, Eli Roth, Tony Todd, Heather Langenkamp, and more.

“This is the quintessential documentary on the man who didn’t just bring Freddy Krueger to horrific and historic life on-screen and beyond, but has created a fantastic career as an elite actor and entertainer.”

Selling for $30, the VHS is presented in native widescreen format & duplicated in NTSC, housed in full-color slipcase and pressed on black videocassettes with silver foil face and side labels.

The VHS release is presented in partnership with Cineverse, Bloody Disgusting, and Screambox, in association with Dead Mouse Productions and Cult Screenings U.K.
