My interest is growing fast by the day for Jon Hewitt's latest feature film, Acolytes, which will have its world premiere at the September Toronto International Film Festival as part of the always awesome "Midnight Madness" section. Today we got our hands on the one sheet for the film, which stars Joel Edgerton, Belinda McClory, Michael Dorman, Danny Baldwin ,Joshua Payne, Anthony Phelan, Todd Levi and Hanna Mangan Lawrence. In the film three teens blackmail a serial killer... it's a chiller set in the 'burbs and forests of Queensland. Click here for all TIFF news.
I saw the film 2 weeks ago. I was quite disappointed. The film tried so hard to make the audience feel pressure thru suspense music and loud noise. In the end it was cliche and bored !
Jesse said it already. Cliche. Fourteen year old girls running through forests screaming with just underwear on, guys jacking off watching people have sex. Just a really bad exploitation film.
First of all, personally i hate these cocky young actors. They think they are the IT crowd. I feel bad for Joel Edgerton for being in this movie. I think they needed him to sell the film.
