Arriving on DVD August 19th from Sony Home Entertainment is the Unrated release of Prom Night, which stars Brittany Snow, Dana Davis, Jessica Stroup, Scott Porter, Collins Pinnie, Kelly Blatz, Idris Elba and Johnathon Schaech. Inside, you'll find an exclusive clip from the upcoming DVD. Donna’s senior prom is supposed to be the best night of her life, one of magic, beauty, and love. Surrounded by her best friends, she should be safe from the horrors of her past. But when the night turns from magic to murder there is only one man who could be responsible…the man she thought was gone forever. Now, Donna and her friends must find a way to escape the sadistic rampage of an obsessed killer, and survive their Prom Night.
BTW Halloween_Night an unrated version can still include blood and gore and get extra footage too. Like 'Epic movie' unrated. It was like R rated footage with a couple of minutes added. I hated 'Prom Night'. No unrated cut can change that.

I've seen the unrated edition of the film, and I did enjoy it much more than the theatrical. There's not much added footage, but there are the same scenes, refilmed with more blood. Not much more, and it doesn't rise the film above it's "below average at it's very best" status, but it's better, that's for sure.
Halloween_Night, I can't agree... I thought the movie would be much better than it was (hence the 'naming my screenname after it' thing), but it never rose above mediocrity, and was a huge disappointment. I wish these PG-13 horror filmmakers would actually give a decent try -- suspense has more weight than gore in terms of horror, and I think with some well-done suspense the movie could have been decent.
All I can say is that if I were in charge (only if I had to...) then I'd sure want to re-remake Black Christmas and Prom Night. They screwed them up pretty bad. But still they're both one of my guilty pleasures! Actually, Black Christmas had the elements that Prom Night was supposed to have, and the opposed. Remember that BC was more of a thriller and PN was a slasher (the originals)? BC could have easily be PG-13 without the language and some short, brief shots.
