After a big push from 20th Century Fox, next week Alex Aja's Mirrors arrives in theaters everywhere. The anticipation is high for this R-rated bloodfest, which stars Amy Smart, Kiefer Sutherland and Paula Patton, and we can only hope the film is half as good as it looks. Today we were provided with the final batch of images from the remake that follows a security guard at a high-end department store who begins to investigate mysterious deaths occurring in front of the stores' mirrors. He soon discovers that there are murderous reflections out for revenge.
GenERic. The unoriginality of lame movies like this makes my spelling look downright intelligent. I'm so sick of lame copy/paste horror movies like this that all look the exact same.
The trailer and stills are more than enough to convince me that even if the movie itself is pretty generic, there will be plenty of gore to make it enjoyable. That said, I don't think this looks too generic at all.
Well, Aja isn't known for his originality. He's known for making the best possible product within the resources he's given; he makes GENRE films. He's a horror director, he may ALWAYS be a horror director. But personally, I don't see anything terribly wrong with that just yet because I think he makes decent movies. If anything, he gives his movies an attractively ugly style, and he can build some decent atmosphere.
I agree with TheDeadMayTasteBad yeah the films are sick and disgusting but Aja makes you enjoy that. Sure 'The hills have eyes' had blood here and there and that rape scene but yeah I kind of liked it.
