TheDeadMayTasteBad: I think it's mainly due to the lack of gore/violence in modern American movies. The other day I was thinking about every movie I've ever seen that I thought was gory, and honestly, I could only think of one or two, and I've seen most everything I've ever heard was gory. Hollywood gore is genetic. Limbs being cut off, heads cut off, blah, blah, boredom. I was born and raised on ultra-violent video games like Killer 7 and No More Heroes, which both have more blood and punk gore than most of the gory movies on this site COMBINED. Penises put in blenders, little kids being torn apart on giant drills, bloodsplatter that makes Kill Bill look lame, etc. But as Hollywood turns more genetic and gore-lacking, anything with even a minimal amount of violence seems more appealing than yet another PG-13 goreless movie. There is nothing this side of hell that could make me want to see this movie, but I can understand why others might if it were rated R. Supporting movie violence at any cost, no matter how minimal. Because, dude, I can count every truly gory movies I've seen in my life on one hand. If Hollywood sees violence sells maybe they'll put out more true gore. But I still wouldn't see this for the life of me.
