This morning USA Today posted the first batch of official stills from Dimension Films' The Road, which starts its theater run on November 14th. Directed by John Hillcoat, the pics don't show much, but they do give us an idea of how good the movie looks. The story centers on a man who embarks on a nightmarish road trip after a nuclear explosion in an attempt to transport his son to safety while fending off cannibals. Viggo Mortensen, Charlize Theron and Guy Pearce all star, read on for the images.
"The Road" is my favorite novel from Cormac McCarthy, and one of my favorites books period. It's fantastic, dark, and epic. John Hillcoat seems like (from what we've seen so far) that he is at the very least, giving this a fittingly gritty and diabolical look. I seriously can't wait.
I can't wait either! i loved this book so much. it really looks like they might capture the story well. let's just hope they don't screw it up by adding new and unnecessary characters.
