This afternoon we added our exclusive one-on-one interview with Derek Mears, your brand new Jason Voorhees. You'll get to see a brand new Jason in action when New Line Cinema releases Friday the 13th (footage inside) in theaters February 13, 2009. The pic directed by Marcus Nispel is the retelling of the original Friday the 13th about teenaged summer camp counselors that are systematically slaughtered by a mysterious killer. Jason Voorhees will wear the mask and kill, keeping the famous setting of Crystal Lake.
good interview guys, this web site is really amazing, and i grew up in the era of the friday the 13th sequels as well, i relate, and i share the same excitement as you all about bringing back something so important to the horror genre as the old school jason , derek sounds like a super nice guy and i trust his work will be brilliant.
Great interview. Derek seems like an outgoing and very personable guy. Nice to see that he feels a true connection with the fans seeing as how he himself is one.
Take out a pencil, and a little piece of paper, and write this down: When all the dust settles, Derek Mears will be considered the greatest Jason of all time. I just know.
yea for an odd reason i did love part 6, but also that one did scare the shit out of me when i was little, i used to have nightmares of that movie :-p put i also have to agree that parts 1-4 where the very best of the series especially part 4 cause that movie was just awesome
Its all about 1,2,3,4. Those are the only films that matter. 3 being my favorite because for one he dawns the mask and he isnt insanely mutated just yet. He still looks like a recognizable human being...just deformed. As time passes he becomes this unstoppable mutant/zombie..cool but not as much as a backwoods retard. This movie should be impressive.
I concur with the great gutmuncher, I wish they would've stopped with part 4. Parts 1-4 are my favs. That would've saved the integrity of the series in my humble opinion. There's parts of the other ones that I like, but ya' can't beat 1-4. The intro to part 6 is cool. The creepy locations, stormy sky, the dark woods, the lake, the dog feeding on the road kill. Scary images, haunting score, great intro. Hell, I guess I'll have to watch it tonight. Sissy getting her head snapped off is a great kill, along with the sheriff getting cracked in half. The chick that played Sissy is on Days of Our Lives. I wasn't sure, but I looked it up & it's her. I thought she looked familiar. The guy that played Axl in part 4 was in a few episodes of Seinfeld. He was the preacher/ holy guy or something like that. "Does he think I'm a farthead"---Friday the 13th part 6.
damn, too late for this one. i also think 1-4 are the original friday story. but for me part 6 is the best of the new ones, especially coz it came after part 5 which is the most pathetic one.
"Shitheads couldn't even stick him back in right. Why'd they have to go and dig up Jason? Some folks sure got a strange idea of entertainment."----Friday Part VI: Jason Lives
