This afternoon we added our exclusive one-on-one interview with Derek Mears, your brand new Jason Voorhees. You'll get to see a brand new Jason in action when New Line Cinema releases Friday the 13th (footage inside) in theaters February 13, 2009. The pic directed by Marcus Nispel is the retelling of the original Friday the 13th about teenaged summer camp counselors that are systematically slaughtered by a mysterious killer. Jason Voorhees will wear the mask and kill, keeping the famous setting of Crystal Lake.

Great interview. Derek seems like an outgoing and very personable guy. Nice to see that he feels a true connection with the fans seeing as how he himself is one.

That's cool! I'm really putting money on this one!!! I don't want to be too excited but then I get all giddy and hyped up, so I'm scared!

Wow. He was a good choice for Jason. I feel as though that 'this' remake won't dissapoint.

my grandma would make a scarier killer, but the again, she has the intelligence not to be seen in such a suck film.

Take out a pencil, and a little piece of paper, and write this down: When all the dust settles, Derek Mears will be considered the greatest Jason of all time. I just know.

"When all the dust settles, Derek Mears will be considered the greatest Leatherface clone of all time. I just know." Fixed.

When all the dust settles, there'll be no dust to settle. "The point that I'm trying to make is there is no point to be made"----Mudbone.

"ZOMG! hE will B da BEST JASON EVAR!" - He's a glorified stuntman. A guy behind a mask. Nothing more. Get over it, you festering pustules.

I agree, I'm a fan of 6 as well

yea for an odd reason i did love part 6, but also that one did scare the shit out of me when i was little, i used to have nightmares of that movie :-p put i also have to agree that parts 1-4 where the very best of the series especially part 4 cause that movie was just awesome

gutmuncher
3:01pm, August 6, 2008

Its all about 1,2,3,4. Those are the only films that matter. 3 being my favorite because for one he dawns the mask and he isnt insanely mutated just yet. He still looks like a recognizable human being...just deformed. As time passes he becomes this unstoppable mutant/zombie..cool but not as much as a backwoods retard. This movie should be impressive.

i'm excited.

Quint's Machete

I concur with the great gutmuncher, I wish they would've stopped with part 4. Parts 1-4 are my favs. That would've saved the integrity of the series in my humble opinion. There's parts of the other ones that I like, but ya' can't beat 1-4. The intro to part 6 is cool. The creepy locations, stormy sky, the dark woods, the lake, the dog feeding on the road kill. Scary images, haunting score, great intro. Hell, I guess I'll have to watch it tonight. Sissy getting her head snapped off is a great kill, along with the sheriff getting cracked in half. The chick that played Sissy is on Days of Our Lives. I wasn't sure, but I looked it up & it's her. I thought she looked familiar. The guy that played Axl in part 4 was in a few episodes of Seinfeld. He was the preacher/ holy guy or something like that. "Does he think I'm a farthead"---Friday the 13th part 6.

Quint's Machete
10:02am, August 7, 2008

"The only way now to stop Jason is to return him to his original resting place, where he drowned in 1957"----Friday the 13th part 6.

Quint's Machete
11:51am, August 7, 2008

"We better turn around, because I've seen enough horror movies to know that any weirdo wearing a mask is never friendly"----Friday the 13th part 6.
