At this past weekend's San Diego Comic Con we chatted exclusively with Amanda Righetti, star of Platinum Dunes and New Line Cinema's remake of Friday the 13th, which arrives in theaters February 13, 2009. The pic directed by Marcus Nispel is the retelling of the original Friday the 13th about teenaged summer camp counselors that are systematically slaughtered by a mysterious killer. Jason Voorhees will wear the mask and kill, keeping the famous setting of Crystal Lake.

Just wanted to make sure everyone knows... neildiamondfan thinks this movie is stupid, and he won't be watching it. Turn on your heartlight, everybody!
No, she wasn't high... just not used to this type of stuff. Con is pretty hectic, with a million people pulling you in a million directions, and that, coupled with the fact that all of the cast is incredibly tight lipped about this movie, meant that she was simply nervous about giving too much away. I interviewed another female cast member, and she wouldn't even admit that Jason kills people in the movie! Hopefully once the movie is closer to release the interviews with cast/crew will be a bit meatier.
Also, keep in mind that the interviewer may have been trying really really hard not to gawk at Ms. Righetti and thus maybe kept losing his train of thought. You know, hypothetically.

Wow. Thanks for the cleaned up trailer. They cross fade every cut in there. When one cut starts you can still see a vestige of the shot from the previous frame. No clean cuts. Crazy! There's a shot from behind of Jason holding up the mask. A close up of his eye while wearing the hood. And what the hell is that huge bright light behind him when he's chasing that person? I didn't see any of this when trying to watch the first release. Thanks so much for your effort. Man, I'm psyched. This is going to be one intense movie.
