Universal Pictures' The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is now in theaters everywhere, and it's pretty crummy. "While [Rob Cohen] definitely has delivered another hit for the studio, it’s unforgivable how dumbed-down the final product is... The best way to describe this latest MUMMY entry would be to compare the audience to a cat and the film to a ball of yard. Writers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar treat the audience as a simple cat with a small brain - stupid enough that a ball of yard will amuse them for hours." Click the title for the review.
Regardless, I'm seeing this movie. I have to just pull myself away from relating it to the other two movies though. I think by doing that, this one will be pretty decent. Seeing it tomorrow!
My interest dropped badly after seeing the "Making Of" special on HBO. It looked so lame. Someone please stop Rob Cohen from making another film, and to tell Maria Bello to learn to act for once.
DUDE...WHY HAVENT YOU POSTED THIS:
Sam Raimi confirmed at a panel at Comic Con on the weekend that he wants to get to work on a fourth "Evil Dead" and is talking with his brother Ivan about it.
When asked about it by CHUD a little later though, things don't seem as far forward as fans hope - "Well, he's coming to town and we're going to talk about that, if he's got time to work on the script. Don't really have a next project lined up right now, and we'll end up writing about two or three pages of it, as we always do, and then work on something else."
What about the fourth "Spider-Man" film, where does that stand right now? "I don't know if Columbia is offering me the picture just yet, so I don't want to be presumptuous and say that, but if I do get offered the job of directing it once they get a screenplay in...I'd love to work with Tobey and Kirsten...and unfortunately I killed off James Franco. Sorry about that, James."

trash. another shitty sequal. just becuase hollywood can gift wrap it and put a pretty little bow on top they think it will be bloody brilliant...but THAT'S not going to stop it from making millions.
ill prob see it bc loved the first two mummies EVEN though whenever i heard that rachel weize wasnt gonig to be in it way in the begining that threw my interst off and also oo what was that dudes name the dude with the long black hair in the first two mummies he aitnt in it so basically only two original charecters returning is brandon frazer and the dude tha tplayes jonathon...plus only heard of the maria belo chick from coyote ugly (i dont remember what charecter she played ).....um blood flow what does that have to do with the mummy????
evil dead 4? for real?! awesome! btw, is there any news on "trailer trash" yet? last thing i heard was about a scene where they get a zombie stoned and he gets the munchies *lmfao* and supposed to hit the box in august?
BLOODFLOW, thank's for the info, Evil Dead 4 will be awesome and is long overdue. "The Mummy" series in my opinion is crap. An overblown CGI kind of horror version of Raiders of the Lost Ark. Lame on so many levels. I totally agree they should have gone the "Wolfman" approach and made it old school universal style. Boris Karloff would laugh his ass off at what they have done to The Mummy.
To be honest I liked the film and the others. But I am also a big UNiversal Classic fan, especially The Mummy collection. This film while it doesnt have..mummies..in a sense anyway it carries alot of fun to be had. Its not Oscar quality but its fun. What else would you expect from this film? The new Mummy films remind me alot of the sequels Universal made to the First Classic Mummy film, they were more comedic, fun and action packed. The influence of those films shine bright in the new films. I liked it PLus Fraser is a cool action hero, and I honestly believe this franchise has one more film left in it. Then they should call it quits. There is alot of potential to be had yet with all of this. and a better film despite me liking this one.
