New 'Mother of Tears' DVD Art...

Genius Products and Dimension Extreme have announced The Mother of Tears, which stars Asia Argento, inside we have the new cover art. The Dario Argento directed horror film will be available to own on DVD September 23rd, and should retail at around $19.97. The film will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 track. The only extra material will be a making of documentary, and an interview with the director. The film centers on a young American art student, Sarah, who "unwittingly opens an ancient urn that unleashes the demonic power of the world's most powerful witch. As a scourge of suicides plague the city and witches from all over the world converge on Rome to pay homage, Sarah must use all her own psychic powers to stop the 'Mother of Tears' before her evil conquers the world.

Now, that's more like it. Not that I don't like extreme close-ups of Asia Argento's face, but this is much better.

I actually liked the first one. I guess this will draw a larger audience since it's more sexually appealing.

Dimension Extreme has the worst cover design, everyone of their dvds looks the exact same as the last, they use a lot of the Saw design for their own shit. Its pretty pathetic. There hasn't been a single good cover yet, they ruined inside and Teeth with their crappy covers (well Teeth they just used the shittiest poster from the theatrical run which is better than most of their covers).

I have to say the cover is much better even though I still liked the first one too. The only problem with the DVD is that there's only 2 extras so it's almost barebones. But at least something is better than nothing.

I'm so happy Dimension Extreme listened to all the negative feedback as far as the cover art was concerned; this original poster art is stunning! Although I could definitely do without the slightly-smaller "UNRATED" graphic, which is very misleading. As I recall, "The Mother of Tears" was submitted to the MPAA and recieved an NC-17, but the wise producing company decided to avoid such stigmas, and released the film unrated. No added footage will be found on the DVD.
