While partying around at the San Diego Comic Con, we stumbled into Jamie Kennedy who talked with us a bit about the Scream 4 rumors. "Bob (Weinstein) wants us all to return in another film," Kennedy tells BD. "I don't know how I'd return, but he wants me back," he jokes. He also reveals that a whole new batch of teens would be part of the film. This morning we caught up with Wes Craven who confirms the heavy talks, but denies being approached to return, while his assistant gave us a firm "no comment." More info soon.
Yea, it definitley sounds like this movie is happening, and it looks like Craven and Campbell are the two bumps in the road, I think they can talk Craven into it, but I dont know about Campbell, I mean other then her saying no forever, she is almost 40, at 35 it's a little weird.
I dont see what her problem is, its not as if shes tied down with roles. Yeah fair enough she might be over the whole scream saga but you never know she might put in a great effort and then she'll be back in the spot light, shes got nothing to lose
As said above,i believe wes can be talked round if hes given control and not messed about,Neve could just stop being awkward and just say YES!! shes worried about being typecast,when she already is.. wish she would just get over it,just think,how many people would love to be in a scream movie,and here she is turning it down all these years,all the bonus footage on the scream dvds shows the cast and crew having fun,whats up with returning to that?!!
this film will happen and i think it will happen with everyone returning. if wes craven directs this, it could be a badass film. otherwise, it will likely be direct to dvd
i agree with u both jk and chip....u dont hear nothing of neve campbell...sorry besides being on pofive and the scream movies made her a star back them....she should just suck it up and just be in it even if it is like a cameo for ten min. crude jamie lee was in haloween eight and she got killed off in the begining so why cant she do the same?!?!.....this prob will be direct to dvd
if its a new batch of kids than do we really need Neve in it? unless they pull something like Jamie in the latest Halloween. can they even make a new movie without Wes Craven? doesn't he kind of own the franchise?
I don't think it will be direct to DVD at all, the movie will make good money. Maybe not as much as the previous three did but decent money. I say as long as Dewey and Gale are in it, you don't really need Neve Campbell. I feel for her character, give her a rest lol.
From what I heard from MTV news, Craven IS interested in directing the Scream 4. He said that he'll only sign on if Williamson's doing the script. He stated that he won't confirm or deny anything, though, until the Weinsteins confirm or deny it, but he gave the impression that he WAS in talks with the Weinsteins for it. I hope that's true!!
I am interested in why they want J. Kennedy back in it...even he does not know why. Could be a flashback (even though he is like 10 years older) or maybe they will go the New Nightmare approach and have the real actors getting "sliced and diced".
I'd love to have Campbell back but if you read what she said a few years back about doing another Scream...it makes sense.

If Neve isn't in it, I really doubt I'm going to want to see it. However, like people said, Jamie Lee Curtis came around with Halloween so there's no reason why Campbell shouldn't come around with this.
I'm not real sure about this one 'cause when the 3rd one ended w/ the door opening and her not having to close and lock it 'cause she felt safer now that he was dead and stuff. WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please don't do it
