Shown earlier today at the San Diego Comic Con was Sony Screen Gems' red-band trailer for Quarantine, which arrives in theaters October 10th. Directed by John Erick Dowdle from a script by John and his brother Drew, Jennifer Carpenter stars as a reporter who becomes "quarantined" in an apartment complex with a bunch of residents.
WoW!! thanks for showing us the 2 minute version of [REC] including the ending. :)
Why do we continue to remake great foreign movies and pretend it's our own by restricting the original films distribution and liscencing rights. Is it really gonna kill american audiences to read a subtitle or two.
As much as I hate remakes, I don't mind foreign remakes. They attract a larger audience to see a film they would never see in a different language. Seriously, most Americans shiver at the sound of "subtitled".
Yeah if I had a dollar for every person that has ever said... why didn't they just make it in English, I'd have enough money to fund a re-make of...
Uhm, I lost my point somewhere...
Although n ormaly remakes screw the movies up. This one I really must say looks EXTREMELY promising. Although I liked the first one to an extent this one looks like it as less BS to it and gets str8 to what the majority of us want, action suspense gore zombies and the good ol things that make the horror genre great.
Having never have seen the original, not only will I watch this one (which looks awesome by the way...Jennifer from Dexter is so cute) I will track down and check out the original too.
The original was irremplacable. How can they do a scene-by-scene remake of a so recent movie ? I mean there is no F***** interest. Why don't simply distribute the original movie in a better way than they did. Now regular people who never heard about [REC] will think than this movie was an american original picture. I've nothing against remake, but it's too much. Read the News. 3/4 of movies projects we heard about are remake. What's going on in Hollywood. Did they murdered imagination ? 70's bring everything. And it seems that all new writter and director do is repeat and repeat again what their fathers do in a infernal circle.
She just keeps tucking them under her belt... In years to come I can see Jennifer's name becoming as synonymous with horror as her fathers name!
Keep it up JC!
Lousy America. Thank god ALL (except cartoons) are subtitled for TV, VHS and DVD in my country. Cut to the flick, it looks interesting. Maybe more twisting than [REC] but slightly the same but somehow not. Blah! What am I saying? "Don't support remakes!"
It will not be better than REC because of the language. In english, if you say some of the things they said in spanish, it makes it look cheesy. It could be good, but im glad the ORIGINAL is coming out over here to.
This movie is going to raise the roof!!!!!!!!! I will see this many times for sure!!!!! I wish this stuff happened in real life. Not just for population control, but for my own amusement!!
yea...wow what a great movie..if knew the trailer was gonna show me everyone that died i woulda brought my pad so i can write them down..so when i do see the movie i can spoil the people who are gonna die to my girlfriend so she thinks im a movie mad scientist..
I like the dark light camera scene when i saw it last time in the descent..
but all jokes aside..it looks straight
The original Spanish film REC is very good, the remake seems very faithful to this, at least it seems that it won't be like One Missed Call, the Japanese movie has a regular story, the american movie sucks, I am surprised that a film so recent is recorded again, the only thing that saves it, is Jennifer Carpenter, I love her.
I agree with DJ808 and everyone else who doesn't approve of horror remakes. You can not beat the originals. And besides, if you have already seen the proper REC then you aren't gonna be scared by this film are you 'cos you already know whats happened. I say the Americans should stick with making original horror films rather than re-doing the old ones that are already perfect... And I can list many, MANY films that should not have been re-done
