At this week's San Diego Comic Con we caught a first look at Rob Hall's Laid to Rest, which stars Bobbi Sue Luther, Kevin Gage, Sean Whalen, Richard Lynch, Lena Headey, Nick Principe, Seri DeYoung, Lucas Till, Anthony Fitzgerald and Thomas Dekker. The trailer opens with Bobbi Sue Luther opening her eyes. It cuts to her making a phone call - "I was in a box," she exclaims. Cut back to her eye, pull back and reveal that she's in a coffin. Then we get a little plot from Lena Heady, who asks Luther's character how she got where she was.
Then the bloodshed begins...
The trailer begins to flash cut as we see all sorts of violent moments in the film, such as a character getting his throat sawed open. Then we see the "slasher", who rocks a metallic skull mask and wears a camera on his shoulder. Then we get a few more flashes of imagery and end with Luther slamming an axe into someone and blood spraying everywhere. Cool stuff! Watch for more soon.
"Laid to Rest" is a terrifying story of a young girl who wakes up in a casket with a traumatic head injury and no memory of her identity. She quickly realizes she was abducted by a Deranged Serial Murderer and in an isolated rural town she must survive the night and outsmart the technologically inclined killer who is hellbent on finishing what he started.
