That's the truth. They SHOULDN'T do it. But, eventually they WILL. When they do, I'd prefer someone that doesn't completely cater to the MTV-generation like PD does. When you do that, horror looses it's brains. The original NOES was all about the psychological mindfuck with Nancy's descent into madness. PD can do you average pretty young things with pointless nudity and violence, but NOES was SMARTER than that. Of course, later on in the series, it was dumbed down, but the original was so much more than your average horror cliches. And witnessing Nancy start off as a basically normal good natured average girl-next-door to a paranoid insomniac was a thrill in itself. She doesn't know where reality ends and where the dream begins. Craven captured that VERY good. I don't think PD is capable of giving us something like THAT.
