Are you guys ready for 100% pure awesome? Today three new images were released from New Line Cinema and Warner Bros.' Friday the 13th, which arrives in theaters February 13, 2009. Read beyind the break for a trio of images featuring your new Jason Voorhees (Derek Mears). The pic directed by Marcus Nispel is the retelling of the original Friday the 13th about teenaged summer camp counselors that are systematically slaughtered by a mysterious killer. Jason Voorhees will wear the mask and kill, keeping the famous setting of Crystal Lake. What do you guys think?

OMFG!!!!!! these are FUCKING AWESOME!!! Jason looks AWESOME!!! and that's Whitney/Amanda he's holding, right? the girl in the pic has the same shirt that Whit/Amanda had on in the MTV behind the scenes clip they had on.
OK, WOAH! Jason Voorhees looks fucking badass, scary as hell and more violent than ever. Maybe the same they did with Leatherface, huh? I'm diggin' Jay on these photos! And is that Amanda 'Whitney' Righetti he's holding on the last one? He also seems to have a lot of hair.
this loooks great, it sure beats uberjason...
and plus the element of human qualities is back where jason isnt some kind of demon zombie, he's actually human looking, like parts 2,3,4

Jason (as we all know) HAD hair (albeit brown/black) in Friday part 2. i like it in this. probably in the next part PD does (if there is one) the hair will be gone, like his look progression between part 2 & 3.
Ok, saw them! The swingin axe picture should have been the first official look at Jason, I think that would have gotten everyone into a frenzy. Seeing these pictures, the new look doesnt bother me so much, and wondering if we will get a "winter" scene, why else would he have that coat?
Kickass! I do find it interesting that some folks are put off by the hair, as though Jason didn't have hair in Parts 1 & 2. Nonetheless, love the pics. Of course, I had to go elsewhere to see them. Guess you miss stuff once in a while when you have a job where you can't sit & surf the net all day!
Neck is still too fucking big, cant believe he is actually wearing a T shirt underneath a coat, and he is actually, and for those who didn't see them, Im not kidding actually wearing a belt, is he concerned his pants gonna fall off because his neck is 3 times the normal size of any person regardless of there size?
so is he supposed to walk around w/ his pants at around his ankles? he's a human in this one not a zombie. he's wearing clothes a human being would wear (i.e. belt w/ his pants.)

I'm a fan of the whole F13th series but I know all of them are bad. Yes ALL OF THEM ARE BAD. Just like I'm a fan of the Newyork Dolls, but every song they made was BAD.
I'll make a blod statment, and say this my be the ONLY Friday the 13th movie to actually be GOOD!

in the pic where Jason's jumping down w/ the ax above his head, imagine seeing that coming at you!!! i'd fucking shit my pants. although i'd be dead before i could do that!!! LOL.
Not sure about the hair...but the rest gets my seal of approval. The hair almost lookes like he's wearing a cheap wig...maybe more pics will show the hair better. For now....awesome.

Checked them out on Youtube, I really am digging the last pic of Jason grabbing that chick's head from behind, much better then that first pic that we all saw, God what a joke that was!
Go to Fridaythe13thfilms.com they have them there and I think the jacket looks so wiggerish. But I think this movie will kick ass. Anyone else agree with the jacket thing. The long hair doesn't bother me that much I mean we knew he would look a little different. Just wish he was more beefed up. Still is gonna be awesome though.
Saw em at Fridaythe13thfilms.com. I'm just used to seeing a bald beefy Jason. But then again, if I'm to be honest, Jason really only looked genuinely badass in parts 7 and 9. UberJason was just goofy, and although I love F vs J, he looked slow and stupid in it. From parts 1 to 6, it looked like they just hired whatever janitor wasn't busy and stuck a mask on him. In manhattan, he may have looked cool, but that whole movie was so bad I've blocked it from my memory. Remember his melty sewer face thing? Awesome.
I still don't think he should have a full head of thick blond hair, though.
I wouldnt wanna see this guy in a dark alley, but still the hair looks horrible and so does the t-shirt. Horrible! They should have kept him like the bald madman he was.. And the only reason he ever had hair (originally on screen), was because the makeup artist from the 2nd movie wanted to do his own thing, and the end result was the look of crap.
Yeah, the hair kinda made me laugh. Not because Jason had hair, but because he has BEAUTIFUL golden hair in the pics. I mean, I could understand if he was bald with slight strands of hair remaining, or had full and messy and fuckingly tangled hair(like in part 2). PD managed to make an ugly FUCK horror movie legend into a prettyboy!
Personally I wish he didn't have hair but it doesn't bother me that he does. The guy lives in the woods and kills people so im pretty sure cutting it is the last thing on his mind..
It obvious Jason didnt walk into Meijer and just buy some clothes, a jacket and a belt. Must be from a victim, more I see of the pictures the more excited I get, but Jason is my Fav, so im easy, I liked Jason X! Hope we get to see contact with that Axe!
Hell, maybe he's really Joe Dirt. It was strange the way that Jason sorta' mutated from a scrawny psychopath to a tall, muscular goon between parts 2 & 3. He musta' found a nice set of hair trimmers & a razor. Went from a Billy Ray to Mr.Clean. I liked his look in part 2. Mr. Gillete said that the make-up was really painful to wear. I think Amy Steele cut him by accident during the scene in the cabin with Mom's melon. "You've done your job well & Mommy is pleased"----Friday the 13th part II.
