This morning writer-director Rob Hall dropped us a line informing us that he's about to embark on some reshoots for Laid to Rest, his slasher film acquired by Anchor Bay Entertainment for release later this year. In addition, there have been new additions to the cast, read on for the skinny and watch for the trailer to debut online after the San Diego Comic Con.
"I’m so happy with the film that I decided to celebrate with more carnage," Hall tells Bloody-Disgusting. "We were shooting some stuff for the opening titles anyway and I had a great idea on how to weave a couple more characters into the small cast!
Jonathan Schaech (Quarantine, Prom Night) will play Lena Headey’s brother who pays a visit at the wrong time. Jana Kramer (Prom Night) will play his girlfriend."
"Laid to Rest" is a terrifying story of a young girl who wakes up in a casket with a traumatic head injury and no memory of her identity. She quickly realizes she was abducted by a Deranged Serial Murderer and in an isolated rural town she must survive the night and outsmart the technologically inclined killer who is hellbent on finishing what he started.
The trailer will debut this week at the San Diego Comic Con, watch this spot for new updates and a look at the trailer in the coming week.
Here's hoping there's less time between this film and his next project than there was between Lighning Bug and Laid to Rest.
