Thank you Korea! Thanks to B-D reader 'djblack1313', inside you'll find a bloody clip from Lionsgate's The Midnight Meat Train (review), which arrives in limited theaters August 1. Based on a short story by Clive Barker, the story features a commuter's run-in with a New York subway serial killer and a horde of subterranean cannibals. Read on for your early ticket for a ride in hell.
my pleasure! i'm so surprised (and thankful) you guys posted it so fast! when i saw this clip, i was FLOORED!! i can't believe that Lionsgate screwed w/ this. this 2:14 minute clip has me more excited for ANY movie than i've been in a looong
time! we MUST support Clive Barker & this awesome movie.
I cannot wait for this film. Every still and photo seen so far indicated this wont be soft. TMMT is my fave Barker story and it looks as though the filmakers have hit the nail on the head with this adaptation. This film is going to be bloody and gory, hopefully harking back to the first two Hellraiser movies.
Shame I'll have to drive to see this and support the company that is currently fucking all of us horror fans over...They really shouldn't fuck with the genre that got them where they are today.
I still think they shouldn't have shown Mohageny yet. Promotion in my mind is the ultimate serial killer.
Unseen is far more effective.
Pleatherface out.......
PS: I love you Clive.
i guess lionsgate didnt listen to us fans since it is only going to be limited them jerks.....theyd rather have lil tweeny remakes or crappy musical comedies or tv shows made itno movies that noone really cares about than GOOD horror flicks.....wosses
well that was fuckin scary and gory YAY... but I know my theater won't be gettin it because my theater sucks nuts and only gets tyler perry movies or horrible kid indie films....
isn't it incredible how much tension & atmosphere & dread can be created/inspired in a 2:14 minute clip?! this director (IMO) achieved more in that clip (for horror fans) than too many "horror" directors tried to achieve in many recent genre films. i'm praying that MMT comes here to Seattle.
Well once again the horror genre lost to commercialism. MMT is gonna get a limited release while watered down pseudo horror like the Mummy 3 will get a wide release. Fuck you Hollywood!
Listings are up on Boxofficemojo.com today guys... Only one theater in the entire northeastern US is playing MMT, and it's 160 miles from me (northern NJ) in Pennsylvania. Thanks a ton Lionsgate.
The next closest theater is in Wisconsin. Hope a few Barker fans get to see it this weekend.
For L.A. fans disgusted with LG's bizarre decision to open this film only in very few $1 theaters, it IS playing at the $2 Cinemark Movies 12 theater in Lancaster, CA, an easy under two hour drive up quiet Hwy 14 for any fans down there who'd like to see it on Friday. The theater is old but decent, and it's right next to Hwy 14. Get off on Ave. I, make two left turns, you're there. I think it looks fantastic and can't wait to see it Friday morning. C'mon up & check it out!
