Personally I don't blame her for holding out of the movie. Honestly, Sidney's story is over. If they are going to make a Scream 4, set it in Woodsboro and have it allude to the previous series. Neve Campbell really doesn't have to be that involved. Furthermore, I would hate it to see her character die since it would be pointless.

There could still be a new story,just get her back for a cameo or something,as for setting it back in woodsboro i think its a good idea,my personal idea is to have whats left of the woodsboro survivors back (The party group from stus house,martha meeks,the students who himbrey suspended,the two girls who talked about sids mum in the bathroom,hank loomis,sids dad,deweys mum etc etc... sheriff burke,and set the story on killer/s who want their own re-make of the woodsboro killings on the anniversary of the first massacre... not to set Sidney as the main victim but maybe to have her at least make an appearance even if brief! She was only with Scream 3 for 3 weeks to film her part there!!!! There is a workable 4th film there,with or without her,at least the arquettes would return,they always said they would!

I say just drop her and let scream 4, 5 and 6 be a new trilogy like i'm hearing it is. Get Gale and Dewey back and have a new story that'll span three more movie, we really don't need Neve. The idea of Sid spending her whole life dealing with ghostface killers is absurd and rediculous. If anyone is going to breathe new life into this tired series, it should be done with an original story involving new people. Why would Neve even want to come back? She said before she filmed part three she didnt want to be typecast...Well, too late for her, but me, as a fan of the first one in the trilogy, personally dont want to see anymore of her. Her story is tired and she should have been killed off in the third one. And honestly, none of the surviving characters have anything to offer besides comedy relief, and the time for funny horror movies has passed. If youre gonna do scream, make it worth screaming for.

I don't want this film to be made and most people I know don't either. I can handle this film being made if Kevin Williamson returned to write and Wes Craven returned to direct. Besides the fact, that is the only way Neve Campbell will return is if Craven's in. And I'm glad that the Weinstein's aren't trying to remake the films or/and cast a new Sidney it would be a dishoonor to all those who did their best in the trilogy and a big Fuck You, we want money to the fans. Neve Campbell became a movie star from the original SCREAM (the craft was stupid and doesnt count) and she ended up fading away, i dont think ive seen her in anything or even heard about her for years MAKE not scream 4, but make a whole new trilogy , reinvent things, mix it up, im telling you now unless wes craven gets a billion dollars he wont touch the project with a ten foot pole, especially if williamson doesnt have anything to do with the story

I don't think it's fair to blame Neve for not wanting to return for Scream 4... I'd love to see the movie made though... I'd also like to see Courteney Cox have a role again... But starting with a new idea or a spin-off of the original might be the best course of action.

I seem to be one of the few people that don't want this made. Scream is a bad franchise in my eyes. The first was a blast, but two and three were awful. Again, my opinion so don't get all pissy with me. And I wouldn't shell out another dollar on the series. But for all of you who want this, hope the bitch comes around and does it. Not like she's got much else going on in her career at the moment. So keep your fingers crossed folks.

Of all the people who want this one made, I'd say Neve Campbell is the one most hoping for it being done. Probably asking for an unlikely paycheck, she'll come on board when she realizes that she got nothing else left going on in her career. Or the studio will realize that they don't need her, to begin with. And by just using the concept, they can always go directly to DVD, with Zero budget!

My idea for the opening of SCREAM 4...Open with a pretty young thing workin' as a DJ on a late-night radio show, about ready to give tickets away to the Hollywood premiere of the latest horror remake. Against remakes herself, said DJ starts a discussion about them on her show, asking callers to phone in and tell her which movies they'd remake. The switchboard lights up. On the other end of a call is that familiar, gravely voice. The caller asks the DJ which movie SHE would like to see remade. She answers "THE FOG...for real...not the PG13 bullshit with the chick who made out with Buffy in CRUEL INTENTIONS"...she asks him which one HE would remake...he answers "STAB"...she asks why...he answers "for the same reason any of these movies are remade...THERE'S ALWAYS SOMEONE WHO THINKS THEY CAN DO IT BETTER"...and bam...chase-chase-chase...pant-pant-pant...DJ ends up worse off than Casey Becker in the original.

Well... Like it or not, with out commitment from Neve, Wes, and Williamson - this will either NOT happen or SUCK. Though I was very intrigued by iruvruraggy84's "script"...I'd totally watch that. I think there couldn't be a scream movie without Neve Campbell, but they could continue the story without her. The movie was a trilogy. A fouth would screw it up, besides the mastermind of the whole trilogy was killed along with all the other killers. It would be pointless to make another scream. But it seems like Neve needs a job. Even though I've been looking forward to this, I'm dissapointed. Scream isn't the same without Sidney, I'm afraid. She's one of the film's trademark. I don't want the Scream series to be belittled to the common trash you see on the cinema screens nowadays which people incorrectly call "scary". Neve has to be in it, in my opinion. Even though Scream 3 wasn't great, I have to admit that I'd go see another movie, maybe because I have a sort of addiction to the series. And people don't need to swear or use appalling language to get their point across -- if anything, it makes them look even more idiotic. End of rant.
