This morning MTV posted the new theatrical trailer for 20th Century Fox's Mirrors, which can be found inside. Directed by Alex Aja, the story follows a security guard at a high-end department store who begins to investigate mysterious deaths occurring in front of the stores' mirrors. He soon discovers that there are murderous reflections out for revenge. The remake hits theaters August 15th.
Aja totally RULES!! and Sutherland is always awesome! i'll admit i'm feeling a little iffy about the actual storyline but i'm DEINITELY giving Aja the benefit of the doubt. this will be an awesome movie!
p.s. i love the RED-BAND trailer (obviously!) much better.
Too bad they are butchering the marketing for this film. The trailer makes it hard to distinguish from every Asian horror remake out there. A rated R horror film with PG-13 horror marketing is a bad combination.
The thing is, the trailer makes this flick look like it's devoid of any understatement -- the 'coulda been unsettling' 'cut away from the mirror' bits are overshadowed by too much bombast. It looks like just another Big Bam Boom kinda major studio release. Doesn't anyone appreciate slo-burn creep outs anymore? Must everything be turned up to f'n 10 all the time?! I'm just not gettin' it. And the shots of seen of a few heavy gore scenes, it just smacks of pandering to me.
