This afternoon writer-director Darren Lynn Bousman updated his official blog here on Bloody-Disgusting, which features a new still and some talk about his Fear Itself episode, "New Year's Day", which airs tonight on NBC. In the episode, a young woman wakes up in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by horrifying zombies. Watch this spot for a review soon.
wow by far the worst episode to date. No originality, really irritating camera work and annoying main character. The twist at the end was too little too late.
The other episodes:
Family Man 9/10
Eater 8/10
Spooked 8/10
Sacrifice 5/10
In Sickness and Health 5/10
New Years Day 1/10
Everyone who's done an episode talks about how aprehensive they felt about how much blood they'd be able to show. Is that it? Is that all there is to horror? You alleged filmakers need to stop worrying about how much blood and violence you can show and start worrying about how you're going to create a story that's going to interest and scare people. During my tenure as a fan of the genre, I've seen plenty of movie that were not only terrifying, but also virtually bereft of violence and blood. If you idiots don't think you can make a scary film without throwing loads of blood and violence at us, you need to reconsider the industry you're in and re-evaluate your imagination and creativity.
Yeah That episode was ridiculous. The acting was terrible. The dialouge was horrendous. The camera work was so over done and uninspired. I expected more from a collaboration between Steve Niles And Darren Lynn Bousman. Steve Niles will be making an appearance at a comic shop this week I will try my best not to comment on that episode.
I was kinda excited about seeing this episode, but it was really bad. I agree with everyone else. The cliche camera twitching, NOT scary, silly even. It would of been scarier to have the camera perfectly still for a change. And the main character kept stepping in blood, and her shoes were fug. Give the poor girl a decent pair of metallic pumps. The pacing and timing was weird too, even though it was under an hour long, I think they could of edited it better.
I actually like this one a lot better than most of them. I'll admit I didn't see the twist coming. My biggest gripe is the "zombie love" aspect to the ending. They should have left that out but I thought everything else was nicely done. For an obviously low budget horror anthology on network t.v. not too shabby. I liked this episode, Eater and Family man the best out of them all. The one with Eric Roberts wasn't horrible either.
