Toda Rogue Pictures provided us with the full synopsis for Wes Craven's newest horror venture, 25/8, which stars Max Theirot, Denzel Whitaker, Shareeka Epps and Emily Meade. The first footage from the film is said to be shown at next week's San Diego Comic Con, we'll be there waiting on you hand and foot. Watch this spot for loads of coverage, including an interview with writer-director Wes Craven! Read on for the synopsis.

In the sleepy town of Riverton, legend tells of a serial killer who swore he would return to murder the seven children born the night he died. Now, 16 years later, people are disappearing again. Has the psychopath been reincarnated as one of the seven teens, or did he survive the night he was left for dead? Only one of the kids knows the answer.

Adam “Bug” Heller (Max Thierot) was supposed to die on the bloody night his father went insane. Unaware of his dad’s terrifying crimes, he has been plagued by nightmares since he was a baby. But if Bug hopes to save his friends from the monster that’s returned, he must face an evil that won’t rest…until it finishes the job it began the day he was born.

What I'd like to see is Craven directing and not writing. He and his son didn't do a very god job on Hills 2. However, what I'd like to see is Craven team up with Kevin Williamson again-bring back the ole Scream elements into a new movie!

thats my point, i love horror, i was raised on it(movies.comics, books, the old aurora kits and ahi and remco toys and other great stuff, but these last few years have sucked farts from dead rats in hell. we get mediocore watered down crap that a lot; not all of you worship and nothing gets any fucking better! just endless retreds and pointless remakes... excuse the fuck outta me for demanding qaulity!!!!!!! seriously show me something worth my time and money. i am really looking forward to mother of tears, but what else is there out now really horrorifying that would give me the rush i so badly need? i had high hopes for hatchet but that didn't deliver, i am bored shitlles with zombies and am to old to get excited about tween pg-13horror like twilight, so what do you have to enlighten me with?

Korollocke, if you're looking for enlightenment, then here is a helping for you. Horror has apparently become your CRACK ADDICTION...if nothing gives you the "rush" or fix anymore, then that's really your own problem that YOU need to take care of. Try reading books instead. Horror novels can be hundreds of times scarier than movies. Or try therapy! Because you obviously let it affect you way more than the average person. Personally there isn't much that frightens me anymore either, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy SOME horror films that come out. I'm definitely curious about this one, so I'm waiting to see how it actually turns out before acting like a tweaker over it!

I do read dipshit, didn't you read the above statement. mind shark was a great read. the strawmen had a great opening idea but went no where with it. I see nothing wrong in wanting high octane qaulity scares in my horror not just douche bags and gore. Nothing like waiting and waiting for something and then its a huge let down, you feel cheated and in turn become jaded from seeing the same tired ideas over and over again. though i admit was pleasently surprised with the eater ep of fear it self, hoodoo, combined with a serial killer in an isolated situation with no real hope was a real nail biter, loved the ending! As for the above it's the teen killing the other teens, doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

further more even though i find this new trend in horror to be toal crap i have not and will not ever give anyone who enjoys it a hard time or dis respect them for there opinions, different people like different things simple as that. maybe some day the pendulum will swing back my way to the style i like or maybe it will continue to evolve in to something i can get into, have to wait and see. i remember when wes could scare satan himself back in the day....

I don't know. Last time Craven wrote AND directed a horror movie, it was New Nightmare, which I loved! IMO, it was Craven's last great horror movie before he sold out with the likes of Scream(good, but not great, IMO). Since New Nightmare, he's either written or directed horror, but never did both on the same film. So I'm anxious to see if Craven can recapture what he did back in the day when he used to give us movies like NOES. This has a big NOES feel, even backed with the fact that most of the actors and actresses will be no-names(just like NOES) that are ACTUALLY teenagers(not like the freakin 30-somethings in Scream, which looked NOTHING like teenagers). And suposably, this movie's going to be rated-R. I can't wait. With all the crappy remakes out there, it's good to see some stand-alone ideas coming through the mist. I mean, the premise might echo NOES, but there are a lot of accepted horror movies that echo other horror movies. I mean, We wouldn't have Ft13 without Halloween and TCM, and all three are pretty much accepted well for being their own franchises. The concepts of slashers are almost ALWAYS the same, but there are different particulars featured in each slasher that makes them unique. And on a last note, it seems the changed the name of the town. Originally it was Riverdale, but they changed it to Riverton.

If Hills 2 is any indication, this will be complete crap.

This sounds good. When craven is on the ball his movies are fucking great, original Hills, original Nightmare plus New Nightmare, Serpeant and Rainbow, Scream. This sounds a lot like Nightmare so hopefully he can pull it off and create a new original villian like Krueger.
