This afternoon Sony Pictures Home Entertainment launched the official website for their animated feature film, RESIDENT EVIL: DEGENERATION. At the site you'll find a trailer, production blog and synopsis, which reads: he "Umbrella Incident" that took place in Raccoon City was ended with the eradication of the deadly virus by a missile attack ordered by the government. As its operations were suspended on a global scale, Umbrella Corporation stock plummeted. This serious blow to the business giant resulted in its complete dissolution. 7 years later, at an airport somewhere in the United States. An ordinary autumn afternoon. One zombie is unleashed into this peaceful scene to attack everyone. In the airport starting to fill up with the undead, the horrific disaster is about to be repeat itself...
i LOVE the Res films, but i'm EXTREMELY psyched to see/buy this!! for a CGI film (or even live action film) this looks like (going by the teaser trailer) it could be intense & scary.
Maybe it's just me, but the CG in this looks terrible. That teaser looked like a PS2 cutscene. Either way, it can't be worse than the live action movies.
Yes, it's animated, but this does look like the "Resident Evil" film I've been waiting for. It will undoubtedly be true to the source material while packing a punch of its own. Maybe I'm just being optimistic, but "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" made up for the mistakes of completely unrelated "The Spirits Within", and I think this CGI flick will do the same for the mess Anderson has stirred up among hardcore fans of the games and source material.
You're right, it does look like a cutscene. My only trouble with the cg movies is that there's something about a human's eyes that just doesn't translate to the medium. From Final Fantasy to Beowulf everyone looks like they have down syndrome. At least it seems closer to what the games were. Still, it says so very little.
wow that is terrible it looks like they just had taken scenes from the video games and made it a movie that is gay! The title Degeneration is stupid too why would you name a movie that? I think its a waste of time and film!
13th ghost would you rather have another action fest that has NOTHING to do with the games with some crappy and down right boring make up effects. The definition of degeneration. 1: degenerate condition(zombisim) 2: a lowering of effective power, vitality, or essential quality to an enfeebled and worsened kind or state(The fact your stuck in a zombie infested area) 3: intellectual, moral, or artistic decline(everyone gose nuts during zombie attacks)4 a: progressive deterioration of physical characters from a level representing the norm of earlier generations or forms(A new type of virus like the t-virus that fucks everybody up more when infected) b: deterioration of a tissue or an organ in which its function is diminished or its structure is impaired(Again a sign of zombisim)
