Anchor Bay has revealed early details on Halloween: The 30th Anniversary Commemorative Set. DVD Active reports that the 6-disc package will include the original 1978 film, the extended edition which has been out of print for several years, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, a Halloween 25 Years of Terror documentary with cast and crew, and a bonus Blu-ray release of Halloween. On top of all that, the collectible set will include a replica of the Michael Myers mask. Retail will be $89.97.

cool, but it's basically a bunch of stuff we already have all packaged together... nothing new except for the extended edition, which would be neat to have, but not worth the 89 bucks slapped on it.

AWESOME! ive had my fingers (and toes)crossed that carpenters film would get special treatment for its 30th - this surpasses all my expectations. should cost around 50 quid in pounds sterling and that sounds like a bargain to me! nice one Anchor Bay! KM

I'm glad they are rleasing a 30 years DVD but why not put it like this: Halloween (EXTENDED EDITION), Halloween 2 (EXTENDED EDITION, which would have all the TV scenes added to it), Halloween 4 (DIRECTORS CUT), & Halloween 5 (DIRECTORS CUT), plus a special edition DVD combining Halloween & Halloween 2 together (EXTENDED EDITIONS) making it one long movie, plus the Michael Mask. Just my opinion but I would buy that for $90.00 WA before I would this that is coming out.

Just what is in the extended edition? I wonder.

This set really makes no sense without Halloween 2...

I'm not sure about that mask. I'm sure most of you know this; the mask in the movies is a Captain Kirk mask painted white with the hair fucked up. Which shows you how really creepy William Shatner was.

i agree with brandonsl21 make it worth the money... plus it sucks having to watch part 2 on TV to see the extra stuff... damn this commercial world we live in...

Already got the DVD,s Not paying $90.00 for Plastic Mask what a ripoff!

This would probably be worth it if they included the release of the Halloween 6 Producer's Cut.

I agree with Scurgar, where's Halloween II. That's my second favorite behind the original. The only thing I would do with that mask is add it to my wall o' horror in my home. I'd hang it right next to my autographed picture of Robert Shaw. Maybe they're waiting till' 2011 for the 30th anniversary of Halloween II. I'm sure there will be a special package for that one. They're gonna bleed every drop they can out of these films. The same with Star Wars. I'm sure Lucas has gotten tons of x-tra stuff already finished, but will wait and release a new edition for every new scene or effect he's done. He'll continue to make millions for years to come. I wish that Universal would go ahead and release The Shark is Still Working. Jaws fans like myself have been chomping at the bit for it. It's a three hour long doc made by fans, for the fans. Can't wait!!!! "We've got one barrel on em', so we'll stay out here till' we find him again"----Quint.

I'm not interested in this at all. I've already got everything that you get in this set except for the Mask and the Blu-Ray disc but I dont have a blu-ray player so it does me no good..lol! Also the mask is cheaply constructed for this set if you ask me. If I really wanted the mask I could go online and buy the actual good version with the wig hair that you can feel not a plastic one. This set is a complete ripoff..NO SALE!

sweet wonder how much it will cost unless i didnt read it all the way...cool i only have halloween and i think either four or five on dvd. i could always give away the dub. or something. cool....wait ther isnt going to be the haloween 2 or 3??? ok check that what all i have typed. if it only includes one, four, and five and a special disc of the cast and crew and also the blue ray which i dont even have then idk if it is even worth buying now.

to anyone that is wondering where halloween 2,3,6 etc. they aren't owned by anchor bay. anchor bay only has rights to 1,4, and 5. the chances of a complete halloween boxset in the US aren't good

How can they call the shitty mask a replica when it's not even close to the actual thing. This set is only for people who don't already have any of the DVDs and are also willing to pay for a an extra Blue Ray, in which there is absolutely no point!

zombiefan09
11:03pm, July 14, 2008

Sweet! But why put in Halloween 4 and 5? I'd really like to have the extended version!

HorrorFan82
12:21am, July 15, 2008

WHAT-A-WASTE! Cheap mask...Halloween 1,4 & 5 AGAIN and a lazy, slapped on "25 YEARS LATER" documentry, I thought this was the 30th anniversary??? Plus, like many consumers, I don't own the uber expensive BluRay player...making that disc totally pointless. Anchor Bay is beating a dead horse with this one...again...

Will the extended edition include the scenes from TV ?

deadlover
4:05pm, July 15, 2008

so this is the. . . 6th or 7th dvd release of this movie?

Anchor Bay should start including lube with their re-releases. Maybe the rape wouldn't be so painful.
