Singaporean actor Chin Han (The Dark Knight) will next star in Roland Emmerich's 2012. Chin Han joins an ensemble cast that includes John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Chiwetel Ejifor and Danny Glover. The pic, co-written and to be produced and directed by Emmerich for Centropolis Entertainment and Columbia Studios, begins shooting in Vancouver in August. "I have always enjoyed Roland Emmerich's epic take on sci-fi and disaster movies and really look forward to being a part of this film," Chin Han said. The story centers on an academic researcher who opens a portal into a parallel universe and makes contact with his double in order to prevent an apocalypse predicted by the ancient Mayans.
His name is spelt "Chiwetel Ejiofor." However, I don't blame you- it's a bitch of a name to spell (not to mention pronounce). As far as the movie goes, I'm not totally down with it yet. Emmerich is the secondary Michael Bay in Hollywood. "10,000 B.C." was one of the biggest piles of... yeah, I've seen in awhile. The ONLY flick of his I still manage to get into is "Stargate." The cast is shaping up fantastically though.
