It looks as if NBC's horror anthology Fear Itself (all reviews) has gotten over the hump and is continuing on for another four episodes. This Thursday at 10/9 C Stuart Gordon’s “Eater" will air, while another three are lined up for the following weeks. Read on to see what to look forward to.

7/03/08 - "Eater"
Directed by Stuart Gordon ("Re-Animator," "Masters of Horror")
Written by Cemetery Dance Magazine publisher and editor Richard Chizmar ("From a Buick 8") & actor Johnathon Schaech ("Masters of Horror," "That Thing You Do!").
A rookie cop (Elizabeth Moss, “Mad Men”) must spend her first night in the precinct watching over a serial killer, coined "The Eater" (Stephen R. Hart, "Shoot ‘Em Up"). When her fellow cops start acting bizarre, she quickly learns that no one is who they seem. Russell Hornsby ("Lincoln Heights"), Pablo Schreiber ("The Wire") and Stephen Lee ("Boston Legal") also star.

7/17/08 - "New Year's Day"
Directed by Darren Bousman (Saw II, III & IV)
Written by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night)
A young woman (Briana Evigan, Step Up 2: The Streets) wakes up in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by horrifying zombies and struggles to survive the day. Niall Matter ("Eureka"), Cory Monteith (“Kyle XY") and Zulay Henao (“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit") also star.

7/24/08 – “Skin and Bones"
Directed by Larry Fessenden (The Last Winter, Wendigo)
Written by Drew McWeeny & Scott Swan (Masters of Horror)
When a cattle herder (Doug Jones, Hellboy & Hellboy II: The Golden Army) returns home to his family after being lost in the woods for days, he just doesn't seem the same. Soon, a terrible mortal struggle ensues against the terrifying monster possessing him

7/31/08 - "Something With Bite"
Directed by Ernest Dickerson (NBC’s"Heroes")
Written by Max Landis (Masters of Horror)
a veterinarian (Wendell Pierce, "The Wire") gets bitten by a large, strange animal brought into his clinic, he begins to see the world and his stale life differently. Paula Jai Parker ("Side Order of Life", "The Proud Family") also stars.

i'm really excited to see "Eater" & "New Year's Day" (i love anything zombie!). Fangoria.com gave "Eater" and awesome rating. it says it's one of the best eps.

It's not great, but it's cool to see a horror show on network TV.

"Eater" looks like a sequel to "Incident on and off a Mountain Road" (from the first season of Masters of Horror). Despite the casting of a star of a Step Up movie, Darren Bousman's involvement in "New Year's Day" sounds great (not to mention it being from the writer of "30 Days of Night". I'll also be looking forward to "Skin and Bones" if only to see Doug Jones acting out of makeup for once. "Something with Bite" sounds kind of generic though.

I watched the first few episodes, but the opening music is lame...not the kind of music you expect to hear on a "Horror" type show.

I can't complain. It's great to see horror get some prime time. If we don't support this, then the studios will respond. I've been entertained thus far.

so far this show has been about as fun to watch as a dying parent, but ill keep my hopes up that itll improve. that one about the serial killer husband was so awful i almost stabbed my eyes out. if i see another episode as bad as that im just gonna give up on this show all together.

I'll tell you right now that Eater is the best one from Fear itself. it had the most prep, the most style, a fresh crew and a avid horror fan. i really hope the show gets a season 2.

Red Snow and Nightmare is Lace was pretty good. Family Man was depressing. Community sounds like an episode of X Files that I've already seen Spooked was meh.
