I thought it was obvious. An army of Alices attack Japan. RE3 was one of the stupidest movies I've seen in a while. It was fun to watch and mock once, so maybe 4 will be the same.

The 2nd and 3rd are disasters. I liked the first one but I don't see a fourth turning around the franchise. If the last two made money then they are just going to keep making crap.

Personally, how the Batman series was revamped, I think the Resident Evil series should go into that direction and stay true to the games. I'm talking story line right by the book. i'm SO psyched! they DEFINITELY should have Alice in this again (prt 3 pretty much made that a given). it would be cool if they cast Jensen Ackles as Leon, and kept Ali as Chris. also i remember reading that Anderson wanted to continue the Alaska storyline. "zombies in snow" or something like that. that'd be awesome!

There's no doubt that these movies are bad, but there's something I like about how trashy and over the top they are. It is a total sham that Romero got booted off the original project. What was Sony thinking? It's a good job Resident Evil: Degeneration is in the works, it should please all the fans looking for something more true to the games. In the mean time I'd happily sit through another one.

I liked the first one. The second one was cool until the stupid as fuck, weak-ass ending. I haven't seen the third but I didn't have much interest. As far as the forth; in video game series, they typically get a little better each one. In movie sequels, they typically get worse each one.

They should end the series with a 4th movie. Claire should be the main character.

I don't mind. They need to finsih the story they started it annoys me when people make a cliffhanger and don't continue from that point. I really like the first one the 1:85 aspect ratio and the script is not bad for a prequel to the game, the 2nd film was a mess. The diting sucked and it should of been tweny minutes slower paced. The 3rd was great fun.

Personally I think all the people who are like "Make one that goes along with the exact storyline of the game" are asking for trouble. The first one was good because it didn't follow an existing storyline, it just fed into one. I mean, if it was the exact game storyline it would be so fucking boring! You'd already know exactly what was going to happen. They should have just stuck with the original idea: stories in the same universe that are tied to the games, but not copies of the damn games (just look at RE:2).

Just don't use the Alice Clone Army storyline. Thats all I ask.

I went back and played all the resident evil games but never saw Alice. I think that should tell ya why this is a bad idea.

The thing is, I don't think Resident Evil as a movie franchise actually sticking to the "survival horror" roots would've been troublesome at all. Resident Evil has always been MORE about survival horror than pure action horror. That's why the games have MORE in common with the old school zombie movies than Anderson's movies. It's about survival where resources are limited. For some reason, Anderson's movies are pure unlimited ammo action more akin to something Arnold would've been in. That's main beef most fans have with the movie franchise. I think movies like 28 Days Later are more TRUE to what a REAL Resident Evil would've felt like. Hell, your classic movies, Night of the Living Dead and such are MORE like Resident Evil, the games, than the movies are. With the third movie, the RE movies kinda became more of a Mad Max with zombies-type of film.

Last, Alice is a horrible character. She's just pure superhuman action chick. WTF? Just another reason why you shouldn't put your babes in your movies, Anderson. "Oh, Milla baby! I have to write a badass role for you!! Cause I love you!! And I want people to see that you are badass!!!!". So stupid!

First off, don't mind a 4th one being made but since the series were never great, don't expect anything special. And to everyone who wants Paul fucked, though he already is as a director, he's produced the highest grossing series so he can do whatever he wants with it and if that's a problem, all you have to do is not watch the new ones made. Personally, I'm looking forward to George Romero's new zombie pic.

The first one was ok but the series went down hill fast. The only way a forth film will be any good will be by removing both Anderson and Alice from the project completely. Sadly those exec assholes want their money and Anderson is a sure thing :(. Why do people insist on paying money for this shite series? The games had a far better storyline and this is one of the worst zombie series on film (as stated already). The CGI isn't even that impressive either. The char worth anything was played by Oded Fehr and see what happened to him.

People need to look at video game adaptations the same way they look at book adaptations. Most book-to-movies (the good ones anyway) follow the book rather closely, just slightly changing details here and there for the film medium. That's how video games movies should be done. We don't want a complete stand alone story with only offhanded references that we're in the same universe as the games. Oh great, they have the same name. Oh great, they're both set in a place called Raccoon City. Who cares? Give me the mansion, give me the Umbrella from the game. Don't give me a Nemesis that looks like it was made out of Play Doh.

These movies were all stupid. It is such a shame that all the potential was killed. Resident Evil is meant to be horror, not action. Put the series into capable hands. Barry? Where's Barry?

This is so wierd...i went looking on google for information on a 4th resident evil movie like a week ago and found pretty much nothing, and now this. I am all for a fourth movie. The first was awesome, the second was alright, to much action and not enough fear, though thats not so bad. and the third was prolly about the same as the second, maybe a little better. Anyway, i just plain and simple love zombie movies and resident evil is no exception for me. I want them to keep going on the story track that they are on. to be honest, i think its better Paul steered clear of the games story line. i mean thats what made the remake of dawn of the dead so great, because it was nothing like its original material except for some slight things. I am all for Resident Evil 4... PUSH FOR IT PAUL!!!

If they move on with a fourth one, they should make it about Claire Redfield,Jill Valentine, and Chris Redfield along with the help of a mercenary team infiltrating Umbrella Headquarters in search for a cure to the biohazard and to dismantle Umbrella for good. However, their mission proves to be more challenging than they expected as they encounter Umbrella's own Reinforcements under orders from Albert Wesker to eliminate them all. However, Claire, Jill and Chris are soon forced to team up with their enemies in order to survive when the facilty is locked down and a horde of Umbrella's deadliest bioweapons are unleashed. Additional characters i would include would be William Birkin and Ada Wong.

I think i'd call it Resident Evil: Retribution.
