We have confirmed rumors floating around the web this weekend that Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema plan on unveiling the first teaser trailer for their remake of Friday the 13th at this year's San Diego Comic Con, which will take place July 24-27. What does this mean for us fans? It means that if the trailer is shown at the Con it will hopefully find it's way online that weekend for all of us to check out (someone get a camera installed in your hat!) Directed by Marcus Nispel, FRIDAY will continue the legend of Jason Voorhees, his mother Pamela, while rocking his infamous "hood" and hockey mask. The film is slated for release on February 13th, 2009.
Why does Hollywood constantly feel the need to remake everything? There needs to be some organization that retires films and refuses to allow them to be remade.
Certain remakes I have enjoyed, while the other 99% I have absolutely hated.
Of all the Friday The 13ths, excluding Jason Takes Manhattan & Jason X) Part 1 has always been my least favorite.
I think this will do it justice. And with Jason being in this one, it's really only a semi-remake.
I'm stoked for it.
You are correct sir, Not to mention that Olivia Munn is H--O--T as the planet Mustafar. Has anybody out there ever seen "I Spit on Your Corpse" 2001. I saw it at a local movie store that sells vintage horror. All the case said was "Maybe too extreme" & Not sold to minors. So, naturally I bought it. Christ on his throne, it was like watching porn/fear factor/horror, all in one. Pretty sick shit, even for my taste. It was barely over an hour. That was long enough for me. Good thing I bought "The Funhouse", "Alligator","Maniac", & 100 yrs. of Horror with Christopher Lee. That got the "crappy" scenes of that flick outta' my system. "God is watching you"---The Funhouse.
i'm psyched for this movie and i'm looking forward to a teaser soon. i would assume that BD will be getting the teaser, too (in July) since the blog/website is in run in tandom w/ it.
Can't BD get something going with Fuller to have it played on this site as well. I mean you gave the guy his own section on the site, he should at least hook you up with the trailer after comic-con!!!!
I completely agree with icehockeyjoel. I really liked the series once Jason was in it, but I will also agree that the plots have blended together over time and sometimes I cat differentiate between them. It seems this remake is covering the entire series, but still in that traditional FT13 sense. Cant wait to see it! It comes out on my 18th b-day!
Hurmoth, welcome to six years ago (rolls eyes) I wouldn't get too excited guys, we have six more months(not counting july because july is almost here)until release so just expect some creepy music and some words like "Terror has been reborn" or something like that. I hope the film has the classic Friday themes.
An opinion that has been heard a thousand times by a thousand others. There is nothing "new" left to do. Sure there are rare ideas that aren't done often that can be done but still, there will never be anything totaqlly new when it comes to movies. Nothing new is under the son. Everything comes back at some point in time (like clothes).
Thanks dude, I'm just getting sick of ppl repeating themselfs. If coming up with "totally new" stuff is so easy then write me a script for a totally new never done before horror movie and send it to me,lol
We're talking about two different things here. Of course most (if not all) ideas have already been done. That isn't the point. This is taking the same idea and doing it over again. There's no point to it. And who gives a rats ass if the same opinion has been stated over and over again? It seems clear that you don't care about that, you're all in for the same rehash in film. I think I'm well with in my rights to say my opinion.
Remakes now days aren't even remakes. Remakes now incorporate brand new stuff that the original never had, as a matter of fact, some remakes has nothing in common with the original except the title. Also, hollywood has tried to do other ideas, all that pg-13 supernatural ghost shit was one of them and that fad lasted for a while but now its time for TRUE horror to return.
Hey everyone it doesnt matter how many sequels there are to jason, They all rock! Remake or sequel to jason 10 or freddy vs Jason im all game for it! Jason is the Shit!! Just asking one thing do not mess up the original Friday PLEASE !
And shut the hell up about your opinion. Nobody makin you not state your opinion, I'm just posting mine and the facts. Why do you go write a few scripts for new horror movies and send it to producers.
halloween night you freaking rock, i mean seriously come up with something new to bitch about besides remakes, cause people had there chance to see something original in theatres, lets see slither which sadly flopped cause of hipocratic idiots who said they wanted sometin original but when it came didnt go and watch it, and hostel 2 tho nothing like the first movie but still didnt go out to see the movie, and besides people who bitch about remakes end up watching the damn movie anyways and gives producers and movie companies reason to make more remakes in the first place, and i would like to see the scripts that hurmoth will have to write cause you know he is such an originator ya know?! ;-)
Halloween-night regards to your comment of mine, you act like your a movie director yourself, I tell you what, if you were a director it wouldnt matter to you what others thought as long as you make the green and it sells! every director looks at how much money each of the films have made,so making another prequel-remake would be ideal! Stating your opinion is fine along with others, the world does not go around cause people agree its the total opposite, O if you dont want a remake-question. why do you have a jason voorhees screen pic for your account ?
Hopefully, they'll use the classic Manfredini score for the re-make. That's probably the only thing that'll be worth a shit in the film. But, I'll give it a chance. I got bored with Halloween 'o7 after the first half-hour. I'm not expecting much, but it'll be fun to see a new F13 flick on the big screen again, even if it's gonna suck more than "Megamaid's" vaccuum. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, who knows. "It's that Brower kid, his ghost's out walking in the woods"----Stand By Me.
I'd have to agree with Rob Zombie on this one...if remakes were exactly like the original...then there would be no need to make a remake, cause you've already got that movie. I love reimages as I like to call them. Love to see classic stories that I loved to be told in a different way. Then I can take the parts I love about each and put them together. Like Halloween, love the original and love the remake...both are totally different in many ways, but I put what I like about both stories together. It's kinda like Matthew, Mark, Luke and John...all tell the same story...just in a different way...when you add them all together...you got the whole picture.
Kinda weird comparing Horror movies with the Bible, but hope someone understands what I'm trying to say...lol
