Inside you'll find a look at the first poster for Lionsgate's Saw V, which arrives in theaters October 24. In the fifth installment of the popular SAW franchise, Hoffman is seemingly the last person alive to carry on the Jigsaw legacy. But when his secret is threatened, Hoffman must go on the hunt to eliminate all loose ends. The film is directed by David Hackl from a script by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton.
That is a pretty amazing poster. (My favorite from the whole series.) I was actually blown away by this, as I was just expecting some unsanitary tools or body parts to be making the "V" symbol. But this is actually very, very cool, and kinda lends itself to the plot a bit. (Unlike the fingers or the teeth from the "Saw II" and "Saw III" posters.)
I love the poster...not what I wsas expecting at all...hopefully I'll love the movie just as much...this series has been a guilty pleasure for me...Hackl seems awfully cool on the extras from the previous dvd's...I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do when he's in charge
That is an insanely awesome poster...i was actually expecting something lame, like the fourth ones poster with the grisley objects in the shape of IV, but this one is really cool. Im pretty psyched now, if they put this much thought into the poster, then im pretty confident that this one will be much better then four was. CANT WAIT NOW!!! The teaser poster did its job for me, im stoched.
Wow...i was looking at it's wikipedia page "yeah, i look at that site, so what?!", and i seen the poster pic and i'm all like "Holy fucking ass-crackers! Looks sweet.
dont get me wrong i used to be a avid saw series fan, and saw all and bought all, but give me a fucking break five? who do these people think they are freaking michael myers? Also if you truely like good movies, if you go back and watch them all cool kills aside, the acting is poor and theyre just ok. But on the poster its ok i guess, im not pretending like i wont see this because i know curiosity will best me, but for me and all others PLEASE MAKE THIS THE LAST
Sorry. For me, the first SAW was pretty good, but every sequel has been getting more and more ridiculous. It's starting to remind me of all the Halloween, Friday, and Elm Street sequels. Bad scripts without a scare to be seen. The SAW series needs to R.I P.
Awesome poster! But unfortunately my interest in this series diminished after the third entry. I did see the fourth one in theaters, but honestly I don't remember a thing about it, just that I hated it and thought it was a terrible way to milk a dead cow. The third film completed the story arc, and should have been the last.
Awesome awesome poster. Can't wait until it comes out. Oh, and for all of you people bitching about how many there are and how they all sucked after the first, you better suck it up real quick, because there's going to be six of 'em. That said, I'm still slightly apprehensive about the plot, but we'll see how it pans out.
About V, I just hope / wish / pray they know what they're doing ..

Idk about you, but to be honest, when he said "Game over", and locked Rigg in, at IV, I thought that was SSOO ... .. I just thought that was SSOO BAD. ..
You know? Ofcourse it had to do with me not being used to hear HIM say that line, although I DO have to admit I DID find it 'creditable', when Amanda said it .. But then again .. That more had to do with her personality / character, than ... AHH WHATEVER ..
Love them or hate them, you have to admit that the Saw franchise has killer marketing. This poster doesn't even have to say it's name, just V and Halloween. You've done something right if that's all you have to do. This poster goes right along with the style of the previous.

This is just a theory, and not really one that I hold, at that. However, I don't know if anyone has really gone into it yet, and the fact is, there is a very strong possibility that this is correct.
Let's list some things we know about JIgsaw/John Kramer:
1. He likes to test people
2. He likes to try to recruit those who pass
3. He wants people to cherish their lives
4. He likes having a front-row seat to his sick little games
5. He's an old man with cancer who got started down this path after a. his son died, b. he was diagnosed with cancer, c. he tried to kill himself but survived
6. He has had at least two apprentices in the past
I'm on the right track so far, yeah?
Okay. We learned most, if not all, of this from whom?
John's ex-wife, Jill.
Okay, so I'm sure we've all noticed that while Strahm is interrogating Jill, she is extremely uncooperative. Why?
Maybe because she's spinning a web of lies.
Let's pretend for a second that we can't trust a single word Jill has said. Now what do we know?
We know that an old man named John Kramer had cancer and died.
But Jigsaw's work will continue.
So, my point?
Who's to say that John Kramer isn't himself just a pawn or an apprentice to Jigsaw, the REAL Jigsaw's games? Another dead-end for the police?
Think about it. We have:
1. Jill being very uncooperative for no apparent reason
2. Hoffman making a mysterious phone call after doing certain things, even though Jigsaw should be nearby
Now think about this:
There's a certain doctor whose wherabouts are unknown. What else do we know about him?
1. He was willing to do what it took. He cut off his own foot before disappearing. He also never came back for Adam. Either he died, or he doesn't give 2 fucks about Adam, who failed his test
2. He did this right before John Kramer left the bathroom. John could've easily helped get him to safety before he bled to death.
3. His pen was found at a crime scene. This can be explained via Zepp getting ahold of it. But we can also figure that it was Gordon who had Zepp do it, or who had John have Zepp do it. If nobody but John actually knows that Gordon is the real Jigsaw, his identity remains fairly safe.
4. "Wait," you say, "would he really put his family at stake like that?" "Yes," I say. If you recall, he almost had an affair. He could have just led a double life the entire time.
5. Also, keep in mind that many of the people tested have been patients or doctors at the same hospital that Gordon works at. Besides having a breeding ground for test subjects, he also could've been inspired by his job. Sometimes, doctors go nuts, because of trauma. Maybe he "SAW" all of these people with problems they put themselves into, and decided to try to get them to better appreciate their lives. He could've done the whole test with Adam to fake his own death and leave his family safely behind. Meanwhile, he leads Tapp{Danny glover) on to be sure that Tapp would go in and rescue his family before Zepp could actually do them any harm. The worst that could happen would be that he loses those he was planning to lose anyway.
Basically, everything we know about Jigsaw that we didn't learn from Jill, we learned from Gordon. He perfectly fits the Jigsaw mold.
Personally, I don't think I want this to happen. Mostly because, if it does, I won't be surprised, and that's part of the reason I watch these films. Anyway, I'm sure people have speculated about Gordon being Jigsaw before, but this is my way of displaying how very possible it is.
Well, the above comment is quite valid in my view, i pointed out when speculation arose about the twist of Saw IV that Jigsaw himself could be a pawn to the REAL Jigsaw, but i seemed to be the only one who thought that. It was also blatantly obvious that Dt.Hoffman was the 2nd apprentice of Jigsaw when Troys remains were found in the classroom of part 3. His shifty demeanour made it glaringly obvious. Now then, the poster above is quite cool but i don't believe for one second that the man wearing the mask is Hoffman. Firstly, Hoffman has dark hair, and a dark skin tone, the man wearing the mask in the poster has dirty blond hair and pale skin and for all intents and purposes, fits the physical appearance of Dr.Gordon. Tell me i'm wrong, if you can think of another suspect. Also, something that really bothers me about part 4, Niamh Wilson is listed as one of the main stars on the end credits but i don't see any sign of her in the movie. Not even a flashback. I did think it's because of the fact that the events in the film run concurrently with part 3 and that they consider them to be one film but then if that were true, other people from part 3 would be listed too. It's doing my head in LMAO. Any theories?????

to the one above me thank you i dont understand why everyone posts comments insulting the movie if you think the saw series is shit then dont post anything but to the two paragraphs above the only question i have is why would Gordon cut of his own leg regardless of him being Jigsaw i mean if he was then he would have had another way of getting out wouldnt he? well just putting that out there
THE POSTERS ARE KINDA LIKE, 'METAPHORS' ..The "Jigsaw mask" is only meant to act as a symbol. Think of all of the PREVIOUS posters;
The first Saw, from `04 - The hand; nobody loses their hands ...
Saw II - The two fingers; nothing about losing fingers ...
Saw III - The three teeth; Nothing about teeth ... { HOLD UP, I KNOW they originally had planned on having wires go through Troy's teeth as well, hence the wires hanging with teeth on them making the Saw III symbol.., but that never DID happen, right? Right! .. ^_^
Saw IV - Jigsaw's head; His whole head was never completely decapitated and weighted ...
Saw V: Jigsaw "mask": My guess is; nobody will be wearing a mask like that, it's like a 'metaphor'..
BUT PERHAPS, just a guess ... Perhaps this 'metaphor' for V is, that someone is taking over John's work and that they are trying to be 'the new Jigsaw'? OR we will learn about what was behind the mask...You know, the beginnings of John Kramer becoming JigSaw?

yea your write 1st shall be the last they really need to bring back the bathroom its just classic and pretty much every scene that involved it was awesome but what you said about five and six having gore and what not yes that makes the movies cool but i see past that what i look foward to the most is the storyline and twists and turns throughout the movie i was just wondering if anyone else cares about that
I still refuse to believe she's {Amanda} dead .. I'm an Amanda-fan, and there4 I still have faith .. It's NOT a 'lost cause' .. She'll return .. If NOT on the next movie, then 6, if NOT on 6, then 7, if NOT on 7, then eigh... Oh you already got it .. BTW ..
