This evening Sony Screen Gems provided Bloody-Disgusting with a hi-res look at the official poster for the Dowdle bros.' Quarantine, which arrives in theaters October 17th. The R-rated horror film is a remake of the Spanish masterpiece [REC], which is looking for a release here in the States on DVD around the same time as Screen Gems' film. QUARANTINE takes a late night TV show host - played by Jennifer Carpenter ("Dexter", Exorcism of Emily Rose) - who becomes "quarantined" in apartment complex with a deadly virus. why? I don't get Hollywoods recent obsession with remakes. Unless the original film is terribly dated as far as story line, effects, etc. then leave the movie alone. [REC] does not need an "American" version, it was perfect the way it was. This will no doubt be a let down compared to the original and I for one will wait for it to come on HBO.

This was bound to happen. A good film like [REC] comes along and shakes things up and naturally, everyone wants to make (or remake) a [REC] type film. It's already happening with INSIDE. You now have martyrs, technically eden lake, frontiers etc...

I love Jennifer Carpenter but I do not like this poster. Those text screw the poster even more. Anyways, [*REC]is a fucking masterpiece and this remake will NOT be better.
i agree, Carpenter is terrific! the picture on the poster is a spoiler but then again the TEXT on the poster is THE biggest spoiler. Quarantine is leaving nothing up to the imagination or keeping anything a mystery.
yeah i think it is a shot by shot remake,they didnt even think of a way to no reveal all the freaking movie how dumb they are.My recommendation is go watch the original REC then if you want to see it again go and watch this
I´ve seen [REC], and it´s a masterpiece. But I´m gonna see this in cinemas, maybe is not that worse. Remember what Alex Aja did with Hills?
Poster is not bad, I like it, and Jennifer looks great.

Anyways, the movie is only available in other regions. In spain it got released in single and double disc.

The original was brilliant, it's the only horror film since The RIng (original of course) that scared the crap outta me. i'm interested to see what the yanks can do with it. But it's crappy that they have to make all these remakes all the time. Are there no original ideas out there? how about they move aside and let unknowns make horror films for a change.
