I was going to come out and say, "No, not another Sci-Fi channel-esque Anaconda rip off!". Aside from Python, Boa, Python Vs Boa, King Cobra and, perhaps, a few more, they are coming out with another horrible snake movie, Copperhead. Well, I read the article and it seems like it will be something different. I'm all for weresnakes!
First and Foremost "NAGIN" means "Female Cobra" in the Indian culture, how do I know? Well I am indian. I have grown up watching tales of revenge and retribution from a variety of snake movies such as "Nagin, Nagina, Nigahen, ect.." I think people will enjoy this as its a popular myth amongst many parts of India.
I seen a Japanese horror movie regarding a snake girl. The lore seems to have spread from India througout the entire East. It was a funny movie, maybe because it looked so terrible, though. I think it was about this Japanese girl spending her vacation in the countryside where she meets a girl who turns out to be some snake girl. She bites the main girl, who then starts to transform into a part human-part snake. She tries to find help, but realizes that all the villagers are all, too, snake people who are under the snake girl's command. Asia has some awesome horror myths, like those spider chicks that lure men into their caves and devour them(I think that was Chinese myth)! It would be cool to see more of THAT type of Asian horror than, well, more of the Ring-u, Grudge type ghost girls.
NAGA thats the snake monster you all are trying to describe. sssssss dealt with a man being turned into a snake by a mad scientist, that was a fun one, Green Snake a chinese flick had to snake sisters who wanted to be human and were quite aroused. Lets see what they do with this one.
