Hi-res look at the QUARANTINE poster inside. This morning Film1 attended the Cinema EXPO in Amsterdam where they scored a look at all sorts of standees and posters for some big upcoming films. Two major photos that appeared on the site were one sheets for both Sony Screen Gems' Quarantine (in theaters October 17) and 20th Century Fox's The Day the Earth Stood Still (in theaters December 12). Read on for a look.
I like The Day the Earth Stood Still poster, but not the Quarantine one. I'm not sure why, but I just don't like all the text toward the top. Decent image, though.
Same here, i think Quarantine looks crap while The Day The Earth Stood Still looks ok but i also get the "seen it all before 100 times" feel and the letters (title of the movie + name of actor) are the ones mostly to blame i think
I love [REC] and the poster od "Quarantine" looks good, it´s reminds me a pic of "Poughkeepsie tapes" anyway. Jennifer is a great actress tough.
The other poster is simple and misterious.
the Quarantine poster is just a still from the movie. anyone who's seen the original knows EXACTLY what part and when that happens. they could've put more thought into a cool poster.
With Keanus stiff wooden acting a movie with sttod still in the title is perfect for him! Quarantine sounds good I could see somelike that really happening to prevent a spread of something terrible (like more keanu movies!). Needs a better poster though...
Judging by the trailer and now this shitty poster, is there any part of Quarantine they want to keep a surprise, or are they just showing everyone exactly what happens half a year before the movie even comes out? Fuck sakes, good thing I've already seen [REC] or I'd be pissed.
I saw a trailer for Quarantine before The Stranger's and thought it had promise, Blair Witch-esque style filming. The Keanu movie should be called "Dude, The Earth Stood Still".
jarofsap, i agree w/ you %100! Quarantine is keeping NOTHING a secret. the poster tells you exactly what happens (even to Jennifer's character!-REC didn't even divulge that much info).
The Day the Earth Stood Still Has been a favorite movie of mine since I was 5. The subject matter is definitely timely right about now as it was when it was made. A remake may be in order, but Keanu Reeves? Are you fuckin shitting me? The fact that his is the only name on the poster proves they gave him the role of Klaatu. That's not even funny.
The 'Day the Earth Stood Still' poster definitely does it for me, but the 'Quarantine' poster is essentially just a still image from the movie ('s trailer) with the title stamped on it. I'm beginning to think the creative forces behind this [REC] remake just don't care anymore.
what is the keanu reeves flick about?
the rec poster looks reallly crappy. i mean, honestly, there is to much words **g** and it doesnt seem frigthening at all.
The day the Earth stood still should have been remade a long time ago. I think Keanu Reeves can beat out Michael Rennie (who couldn't, but who's the director? I can only hope they get someone who is capable and a fan of the sci-fi genre.
