He's only about a week late, but Rob Zombie has finally delivered us our promised first look at Tyrannosaurus Rex, his latest horror project in development over at Dimension Films. The image inside was designed by Alex Horley (Spookshow International) for the feature film arriving in theaters August 28, 2009. What do you guys think about the art, what do you think it's about? Take a look inside and chat below! More news as it comes in.
This looks just like the Nail comic he did with Steve Niles, as I remember they teamed up to produce multimedia concepts. Seems steve has be edited out of the deal by Rob changing the idea just enough to say it's his original concept. lesson learned for Mr. Niles, protect your ideas...
The tattoos on the poster match Danny Trejo's. And I'm guessing Ken Foree is the African American lead. Sherry Moon, well we all know she is in it. Good thing she married Rob Zombie or she might not have much of an acting career.
If Sheri Moon didnt marry Rob Zombie she would still be strung out on a stripper pole every night turning tricks on the side just to support her and her drug habit, bottom line.
to all you rob zombie haters! you know damn well you'll still go see it.. and how did he ruin halloween.. the orig. is still there for you to beat off to. it was an entertaining flick. ill never understand why ppl trash remakes. its an opertunity for you to go see a charactor you grew up with and love on the big screen! lay off zombie and his movies, if you dont like it then fuck off! yea all his movies tend to be similar but they r still entertaining as fuck. p.s. i thought this movie was not going to be a horror flick. i think its a revenge movie of some kind. who knows. all i can say is i'll go see anythiing zombie makes. hes no tarantino, or anything but he still keeps me entertained!
He didn't ruin Halloween. Last time i put in my Halloween dvd it was still on there. His version of Halloween was by far the best sequal. Quit crying lil bitches, especially since none of you can make a home movie thats good let alone a feature film.
Well, I'm not seeing this. Don't give a damn if you prophecize anyway around that. Zombie ain't getting my money this time. And don't you think the haters hate his movies because, well, they just don't fuckin like it. Live with it, people exist in this world that don't like everything you do. Deal with it or forfeit your soul, cause if ya can't swallow that jagged little pill, you'd be better off rottin somewhere! And that's the honest truth. This comment section is for EVERYBODY to state their mind. If you wanna start some pansy-ass RZ club that admits only Zombie lovers so they can sit in a circle and jackoff with each other, do it at Yahoo Groups. We're here and we're gonna state our piece of mind regardless.
Jesus, talk about some anger here. The Halloween remake wasn't that bad, I actually thought it was pretty good. But you need to see the Uncut Director's Version. It's different from the theatrical version. And you guys have to admit that The Devil's Rejects was a damn good movie. I think T-Rex will probably be pretty good because it's more his kind of movie. And I know I made a comment about anger and I'm the one who is usually saying 'shit', 'fuck', and 'cunt' all the time. But fuck it - it's a blog.
"ROB ZOMBEH IZ TEH SUX LAWLZ~!"
Christ. Talk about a broken record from you people.
Rob Zombie is great. His music is great, and his movies are great. It's not brain surgery, people: if you don't like it, don't watch it.
This looks awesome, by the way.
Can't wait, looks like a kickass flick. And I'll bet 10,000 bucks and my left nut that all these nerds saying shit like "He'll never get my money again!" will be on here when the movie comes out bashing it. . . well, apparentley the went out and rented it or something. Rob thanks you for your time and money.
i actually preferred the theatrical version of Halloween (i didn't need to see a rape scene. unnecessary IMO). it's obvious, too, that Zombie plans on casting Sherri Moon as the blonde in the poster. i don't know if that's a good thing or not.her acting IS getting better but.....hmmmmm.......
I like zombies music, his movies are hit or miss, sheri is a nice piece of cheese cake(acting is a bit weak)robs pretty good though, he nailed Dr Curt Connors in the Spiderman toon awhile back. But I cant condone plagarism of a joint effort between him and Niles, reminds me of what Bill Finger went through with Bob Kane. The poster is a lift from the Skywald horror mags of the seventies. I wish he would have done something with the Dr Satan angle he "promised" for House of a Thousands Corpses 2
this concept art poster looks great, much like his other work. This is clearly set in the 70's. Sheri Moon is a duh. Danny Trejo, is very likely, and while this black fellow looks like sam Jackson, honestly i cant see him attached to this, especially after iron man, so i would expect ken foree, like previously mentioned. Also i love zombie's Halloween bashing. i mean he totally messed up the original didn't he. last time i checked it was just totally different.
i'm there. profane and violent and 70s grit.
metal machine said it pretty well...
don't like it...don't watch it...
rob zombie hating is pretty cool these days isn't it?
magnaderalpha is a retard. HEY PAL, WHY DONT YOU AND ALL THE ROB ZOMBIE HATERS GO MAKE A FORUM AND CIRCLE JERK,since there seems to be way more fags who do nothing than bitch and moan about everything rob zombie than there are people who live and breathe rob zombie. i mean honestly get a life; no one is on robs dick except for those who hate him; they give him more attention than those who like the dude!
I hate everyone saying the last I looked the original halloween is still the same. NO SHIT its the same. But what we Halloween fans are pissed about is we were all looking forward to a film with as much tension as the original. watching Rob's version was a joke to me I really could care less about why Mike did what he did. And why change the original stay within what that story was but make it your own. I mean Mike and his family were not white trash they lived in the burbs that was the point that none of us were safe no matter where we lived or how much money we had. Thats why Rob is a dick he took a movie that already had the blue print and tried to change it which would have been ok if he kept it in the confines of the original. Thats what we as fans wanted to see not the bullshit he gave us and by the way his music sucks.
This looks great. Dont understand the whole hate thing with Rob Zombie's Halloween or any of his movies.
All Rob's Movies Kick Ass!!!
Also people stop treating Halloween like gold, Rob's version was way better than the original and i love John Carpenter's Halloween!
The guy mostly looks like Tommy Chong like horror_movie_girl said, and that would probley be halarious as hell to see him in a rob zombie movie. I dont get why there is so much hate on Rob hes actually a good director and if you dont agree watch a Uwe Boll movie and one of Rob's movies and it will be obvious. Cant wait till this comes out.
Wow. Rob Zombie's version of Halloween sucked ass. I don't hate on remakes, but his version gives people a reason to hate on them. His frist two movies weren't any good either. His wife sucks. Even His music sucks. Rob Zombie's pitcure is next to the word suck in the dictionary. If you live an breathe Rob Zombie you suck too. Let me guess this movie is going to be a big steaming pile of red-neck white trash bullshit with Sheri Moon flashin her cooch and acting horribly. This movie will be another bomb. Anyone who thinks Rob Zombie is good at writing or directing just please shoot yourself. The man knows nothing about cinema or writing. The only thing he is any good at is fucking his relatives just like the rest of you Zombie loving douchebags.
Saying the word "fag" in your comments makes you look uneducated. It doesn't make your point seem more valid. Learn to not type prejudice remarks when referring to a film. The way you ignorant fans type just proves the kind of people his newer films cater to.
As for this film, Rob made great music when he was with White Zombie. Even "Hellbilly Deluxe" was pretty good. House of 1000 Corpses was an amazing horror film that was the FIRST FILM to start this modern horror trend. The Devil's Rejects was good, but left a lot to be desired. I was expecting more of a horror film, and didn't like how he changed direction of the film AFTER production had already started. HALLOWEEN (as many of you agree) was pretty much flashy, high-budget crap. It was no better (or worse) than Halloween 4,5 or 6. Rob is an egomaniac sellout and he seems to only want to make "movies" so he can cast his favorite movie stars and make them say trashy one-liners. That's not called talent, that's called having too much money. The original was an eerie independent film in which Michael was pure evil. The remake was over-edited, hollywood junk which made Michael "human" because that's suppossed to be more scary??
I'll give this film a shot, but I won't expect much.
-Retro Horror Remix
Looks like Devil's Rejects to me...You can probably guess who will play the parts of the characters on the poster....anyway...as far as Halloween, some things I loved and somethings I think would have made it better...like, wish Rob kept the movie in the same timeline...but I've learned to get over that....love the idea about his past, why he feels he has to wear a mask...I especially like the seen where he takes out that bully...that gave me chills....all in all, I really enjoyed Zombie's version. And it was about time we seen Michael Myers on the screen again...I mean..If he hadn't presented his idea...we'd still be waiting for a Halloween 9...which I am still waiting for...we need the last chapter to this saga. Back to the poster, so sick and tired of the hard-core cursing that comes with his films...just in my opinion..getting old.
I think Rob Zombie should have focused on a sequel for his Halloween version...part two of the original took place the same night..take Michael, Lorie and Dr. Loomis back to the hospital...my wife and I love that movie cause most people think of hospitals as scary anyway.
no sequel to zombies halloween please horrorfan1978. While I don't think the movies the shit fest that most make it out to be, (there's a lot i like about it) I think a sequel is a bad idea since having it end with laurie blowing mikes fucking brains out is really strong, i think. I like his movies, i just wish he'd get someone else to write them or at least the dialogue.
I am getting so sick of people blabbing "Rob Zombie is shit!" continuously. Sheesh, just because he DARED to make something interesting and entertaining of the sacred Halloween, you can still jack off to your Holy Grail of Movies. I am looking forward to Tyrannosaurus Rex. But then again, I am guilty of actually LIKING Zombie's movies. Yes. I actually like all of them. I guess that makes me uneducated or something?
ZOMG SHE LIKES ZOMBIE'S MOVIES! BURN THE HERETIC!
...get over it, people. Different people = different tastes. That's why there is the word "individual".
(Damn it, cover blown. *coughs* Ahem: Rob Zombie is shit! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! I love John Carpenter and want to have his babies!....after all, I do not want to be stoned by my fellow horror fans.)
...
definitely danny trejo, ken foree but the chick looks like fergie hope he goes with someone other than sherri she is still hot but he needs to change up his casting a little bit
I dont know about Rob Zombie... The guy cant write dialogue to save his fucking life, but i did like Devils Rejects, House of 1000 was alright too, and i am one of those few people who think everyone is to overly critical of the Halloween remake... No it wasnt the original but it was not as bad as all that. Anyway, this movie looks pretty cool 70's B movie kinda thing which im always willing to give a shot. to be honest im waitin for a reason to really hate rob zombie but i have yet to truely come across it in my oppinion.
It is pretty much The Nail meets Machete, but thats really not a bad thing at all so im into it. And fuck people, all this back n forthing over how shit Halloween was is giving me a headache, bunch a' savages, chill out the original is still awesome, just dont fucking buy it if you dont like it.
The fact of the matter is all of you "haters" are still taking your time out to write a comment about how much you "hate" Zombies movies. That shows you care about him . If you did'nt you wouldnt even waste your time. So one thing to all you Rob Zombie haters your truly Zombie Closet Fans. So f#%&* off with your whiny contradictory asses. You will watch his movies and love them then cry about how you hate them. lIKE HIM OR lOVE HIM HE IS MAKING MOVIES what are all of you doing? I'd like to see any one of you turn out a film like he does.
Great Idea Cynsanity...I think there should be a law put in place to stone anyone who likes Rob Zombie. I'm calling my congressman. The fact of the matter is this...just because he made money from makey shitty music for all those years...doesn't give him the right to call himself a director when he doesn't know shit about making movies. He's not daring...he's just a stupid Red Neck.
You guys are all very funny. Just like Eli Roth, you're all botcotting him after only 3 movies. Just RELAX! This is a very funny debate because no one on either side really has any good points. I thought his Halloween was pretty good, because I wasn't comparing it to the original. It's new, so that's how I viewed it. The new Michael was scary for diffrerent reasons than the original. More psychotic brute strength than a possibly supernatural evil force. Everything about the original is obviously better, but take it easy guys. Don't shit your Huggies. (djblack1313 - I agree with you, the theatrical release was better, that rape scene was so pointless. I'd rather imagine he just snapped and broke out than someone coincidentally got raped in his cell on THAT day. Stupid.)
Korolloke I'm right on your boat. I'm trying to get enough funding to make my own independent film. I have wrote three scripts what others as well as I believe are pretty damn good. So I am trying to make my own horror films that I hope one day gets some recognition from a movie company so I can have a decent release for my movie. Anyways I don't know what Rob and Steve situation is but maybe Niles should help Rob write because we wouldn't have to hear constant swearing.
ogtoddyt
why dont you go suck a dick?
Any real halloween fan as you claim to be would love the new direction and style of the new halloween, because its fantastic(i can's say this for the unrated). It is so different from the original, but that what a remake fucking needs to be, not like remakes like the stupid freaking omen where its frame by frame exactness, rob zombie is on the short list of directors who could have made this re-telling like it was
At the risk of sounding cliche,I just
signed into this forum to tell all the
Zombie hating assholes to back off!If
you dont even like his music, what the fuck are you doing here?Go bitch about him to someone who gives a shit.If you
dont get his music, you wont get the man.
As for his movies,I think he's doing
alright. Not as great as I hoped but pretty good all the same.He should stick
with converging the two like he did with
House.
Anyways,I'm excited about this project and will be there for good or ill but
DDP is ,definetly,a must.
Fucking GREAT poster art! Studios take note: please bring back this kind of promo material; people won't know if they like it or not unless you give them some exposure to it. And considering how popular comics books, anime and manga is these days, this looks like a no-brainer way to reach out to younger audiences. Fucking GREAT!
