Update: Eli Roth will NOT write or direct. Before Lionsgate and Sony Screen Gems' HOSTEL: PART II arrived in theaters, there was talk of a third film being made, but after the sequel was released everything went silent. We have now confirmed rumors this weekend that production is gearing up early talks have officially begun for Hostel: Part III, the sequel to Eli Roth's torture series that puts American tourists in peril during their trip to Europe. No word yet on how involved Roth might be, or whether the sequel will hit theaters or go direct-to-video. We'll update you as soon as we have more information.
They Should Release it Staright on DVD and it will be better if The Events Takes Place outside Europe Somewere in Afrika or The Middle east .

The only torture happening is seeing a third one be made. Maybe they should make one where some brainless, cash-cow milking, unoriginal producers get tortured. I might actually watch that one... But only if somebody tortured me, of course.
A third would be over doing it, the whole concept has milked dry. What original could they possibly do with it. besides name recognition? just like the saw flicks, the villian is dead, but the money mill keeps grinding...

Eli Roth needs to grow up. He seems like an okay guy, but in his comments about hims films he acts like they're the most disgusting things ever . . . and they're far from it. They don't even get up to the level of the Saw movies.
And hopefully without him there wont be so much pointless nudity. He might as well make violent porn . . . if you don't consider Hostel that already.

You know, after Hostel 2 I heard about Eli Roth being attached to this film and that film and the only other thing I have seen him do was a farce trailer for Grindhouse. I like his work and he has been growing with each film. Lets see some more original new shit! I liked both Hostel flicks. Neither make my fave horror movie list, but I did enjoy them. But I don't see the point of a 3rd. And without Roth its pointless
Have you guys ever listened to the director's commentary to "Cabin Fever"? Eli Roth loves horror! I will wait for his "Trailer Park" movie in August...but I expect it to get bumped to November...wait for it...get a 50 theatre release and then quickly go to DVD.

We all love horror here, but that doesn't make us all great horror filmmakers by default. What's being disputed is the issue of whether or not he's ever crossed paths with talent and creativity even once in his life. I maintain that he hasn't.
Jacques, I agree. From all the movies I've seen Eli either write or direct, they are very childish in a sense. It's like he walks into a horror project chanting, "Boobies, blood, boobies, blood, boobies, blood....hehehehe....cool!". They are the type of movies a horney 13-year old boy would make. Nothings wrong with that if you ARE that old, but c'mon. Grow up, man! Take the field a little more seriously. He always seemed like the douchebag-type that was just a stone throw away from being the guy who started Girls Gone Wild.
So a sequel that even Eli Roth felt wasn't necessary? Lionsgate needs to stop this now. If they can't get the original writer or director back then maybe they shouldn't expand the franchise any further. They pulled this nonsense on Cabin Fever, filming a sequel that never even made it to DVD and now we have a sequel to a movie that most people who saw it didn't like anyway.
Whereas with Saw I could understand because it at least has the fan following to support sequel upon sequel, Hostel definitely doesn't, especially not after the second film.

grrr I wish people would stop comparing Saw and Hostel.... they are two completely different films, just because they are full of torture doesn't make them the same type of movie. Saw has a plot that is revolving thats why they keep making sequels... but Hostel no! stop making them.

Sequels are great, but only if they can add to or build on what came before them, other wise it's just pointless. What else could you do with hostel or saw that hasn't already been covered other than brutal torture and dismemberment of nuns and infants( I don't think I could handle a flick about babies and small children being savaged) I saw a movie where a six year old girl was gutted in a rest stop and well I still get the shakes...
what pisses me off is that Lionsgate (i assume) would make a Hostel 3 when it fucks over Midnight Meat Train (also Lionsgate) out of a decent release/promotion.

They were both pretty good movies, the first one being more interesting and fun, but the second had it's moments. Not the greatest movies ever made, but I can't understand why everyone hates him so much. He IS a pretty good/creative director, maybe not the most excellent writer, but he still has a lot of time to prove himself. You elitist nerds who boycott him after only 3 movies have your heads up your asses. And I loved Cabin Fever, so there. hahaha. Get off your high horses you pricks.

If Eli Roth decides to be involved in anything that has to do with Hostel 3, i just hope he puts more effort into the story line and make it more structured so there is a plot and not just rubbish that was the pathetic excuse for hostel 2
With Hostel Part 2, I liked the storyline about those that bid for the chance to kill the tourists, but the girls in the movie were bland and unsympathetic
I loved the 1st Hostel but the 2nd one was very boring and not scary at all, I would really love to see a 3rd film that is better than the 2nd and one that wraps up the story.
i have no problem with it, even though the story is gonna be dry and old, im excited to see the gore theyll put in it.

I mean look at Star Wars, im sorry but Revenge of the Sith sucked and then Saw 3 & 4, it was almost as if it was just a long ass ending with no real explanation. The Matrix? Fuck! The first was great but the next 2? Shit, I was not impressed. But then again Im just being a wannabe film critic when I should just be enjoying the movies. But my point is is that Roth possibly has the same idea and wants nothing to do with it because he thinks there is no way to kickstart a new original story.
I don't understand why people are saying to get rid of Saw. Saw has a way better plot than Hostel movies. The Hostel movies are all the same. A group of people go to a foreign counrty for drugs and women/men. They're all the same things, just different people. Saw actually has an interesting plot. It doesn't have the same thing in all of the movies and it keeps you wondering.
I like both saw and hostel but agree with xoEmalyxo they made hostel 1 and 2 very alike, anyway im still hoping for a hostel 3, hopefully it will be different if Eli Roth wont be directing or writing it.
