This evening John Landis broke the news to Bloody-Disgusting that Universal Home Entertainment is planning to release his classic werewolf movie An American Werewolf in London on Blu-ray later this year sometime next year! To top it off, he revealed that the Blu-ray release will also come with the brand new feature documentary BEWARE THE MOON: REMEMBERING AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON as an extra feature!! Directed by Paul Davis, twenty five years on, the original cast and crew look back on the John Landis classic in an hour and half documentary. More details forthcoming. MOON made its world premiere tonight at the HorrorHound Weekend in Pittsburgh.
I cant wait. I agree that the transformation was amazing, but the part that I found really terrifying was when they were on the moors in the beginning.
Good evening children of the night, I'm really looking forward to this one. One of my all-time favs. The "Slaughtered Lamb" scenes are the best. Creepy countryside, cold moonlit night, five-pointed star shrine. The best werewolf howl sound effects I've ever heard. I thought they might tell the tale about the guy/werewolf that attacked Jack & David. The place seemed to have a long history. A pre-quel about the werewolf's origins at that town. Then get into how Jack & David's attacker became a werewolf himself. It'd be better than a remake in my opinion. Just a thought. "Stick to the road, keep clear of the moors"---AWIL.
Will we ever get to see the complete scene where the 3 homeless guys were killed? I remember when they had a screening in Long Island before the movie came out, and this scene was so gory, they said it took the audience too long to settle down after, and so they had to cut it. I've been waiting for it to show up as an extra on a DVD. But nothing yet. Find that scene!
